  2. Submitters: Henry, NightOwl Location: My 90 gallon Camera Used: Olympus C-770 UZ Subject: "Let's Share" - Feeding of various Zoa's and Palys
  3. toastiireefs, They are some form of people eaters . They look pretty cool in the tank and I have them sitting up pretty high. They are finally starting to take off so I am getting excited about that. skipperawe, The last two are some close-ups of my blue snowflake colony. I'm pretty proud of those pictures . Melev's Reef actually has a picture of my small colony on his website . zoozilla, Thanks for the hand claps . I plan on taking a few more pictures this week so hopefully there will be more to come .
  4. zotzer, I will keep that in mind. I will let you know once they get going pretty good. jnguyen4007, Thanks for the comments. I am hoping to have some new shots todays new pickup in few weeks.
  5. Thanks 143gadgets and gmubeach. I am trying to get better with the camera.
  6. zotzer, I forget where or who I got them from, but I think it was from a tank breakdown. I can't really remember sorry. I will check my log tonight and see if can figure who I got them from. I am hoping the new location I moved them two will make them spread fast.
  7. zotzer, Thanks...currently they are my favorite in my tank. davjbeas, For the zoas, crayola , and the purple tip I did not use any special lenses. I did however use a top-down box I made. That just allowed me to put my camera in the water without ruining it . For the blue snowflake polyps (last two) I used two different macro lenses. I also took a picture of the colony (not pictured) that is supposed to end up on melevsreef identification page so I am pretty happy about that. Thanks
  8. SteveM, It's an Acropora plana a.k.a. Crayola Acropora or at least that's what was sold to me a while back. Thanks
  9. Well I have not posted anything in a while on here so i figured I would post some pictures. Enjoy
  10. Hey I don't want to end up electricuted so can I ask a favor of someone to test this ballast for me. Please let me know how much it will cost. I found my testers, but I can not find my directions and with a 400Watt ballast I dont want to make any mistakes. I have been shocked before and it is not a plesant feeling. Thanks, Henry
  11. Looks like that fish was supposed to be dinner . Those were piranhas and goldfish (the new fish) are considered a feeder fish for them. What to feed a piranha link. When I had my dogfaced puffer I would feed him feeder fish from the pet store as well. Just not the expensive goldfish.
  12. Sorry for the delay I am not out in Winnipeg Canada. The vendor is Sharky's Reef :(. looks I will have to check to see if its getting power when I get back. I could not find my voltage tester before I left. Henry
  13. Carl and Brian, Is there anyway to look at the wiring and see if its for 15 or 20 AMP breakers I have a few mixed breakers in the box. Do they do the mix the wiring in the house the majority of the time? My basement is finished except my shop/laundry room area :(. I guess its turning into a tear the walls apart project :(. Henry
  14. Jason and Jacob, I have a voltage meter if that's what you mean. I have tinkered around with small electronics, but nothing with any real voltage. I don't want to end up the poster child for what not to do . The most adventurous I have been is changing all the sockets and switches in my house. Thats with power off . The vendor sells corals and the like, but from time to time have a section where they sell their used goods. It was described as a pedant they carried to shows and in good shape, etc so I ordered it. I have since learned that good shape can have a wide range of meaning. After it did not even power on the fan I opened it up and it looks like a lot of dust and what not in there and other stuff. Oh and don't forget the loose black binder clip...lol. I think it was rigged to work because there are other black paper binder clips in it. I will try to get pictures tonight. What do I clean it with? Thanks, Henry
  15. It's supposed to be a Coralvue HQI 400 Pendant Kit but I do not see the name on any of the stuff :(. similar to http://www.customaquatic.com/customaquatic...ndexID=lt-mh-mq but the one i have is the old syle and is bigger. Mine is 16" long and about 11" wide and 5" tall. LT-CV-400PEN-DE Description: 400 watt 20K double ended metal halide HQI pendant system. Includs electronic ballast with 3 year warrenty, 20K DE bulb and pendant enclosure. Pendant dimensions are 13.5 inches long by 11 inches wide by 4.5 inches tall. NEW STYLE BALLAST. 400 watt double ended metal halide HQI pendant system. Includs electronic ballast with 3 year warrenty, 20K DE bulb and pendant enclosure. Pendant dimensions are 13.5 inches long by 11 inches wide by 4.5 inches tall. Pendant had a 6 foot lamp cord. treesprite hopefully there is hope...otherwise I would have spent just as much as buying a new one :(. thanks, Henry
  16. Sorry had not checked this thread in a while...Thanks for the advice. I think I have two possible sollutions. The basement is currenly a 15 AMP breaker. Would increasing to 20 AMP make it any better? The other option is adding another breaker I have almost an half empty box. Not sure what that would entail but could be worth an option. I would have replied sooner so sorry for the delay. Is there ayway to auto subscribe to threads you start? Thanks, Henry
  17. Ok so back in June I ordered an used MH pendant and ballast from an online vendor and when it arrived the bulb was broken :( . They gave me the run around about the bulb until about two weeks ago and then finally sent me a new one. When installing the bulb which was supposed to be new the bulb broke so I ordered a new one. Today I tried to turn on the lights with the new bulb I had ordered and nothing happened . Is there anyway to tell if the ballast is dead. Oh this might help to know. I heard a rattling sound in the ballast and took it apart and it was one of those black paper clip binders rolling around. So I think that may have shorted something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Henry
  18. Pretty sure is its not the vacuum. Before adding the second tank everything was fine with the vacuum . Since the second tank has been around the tripping of the breaker is 100% after about 2 mins of running it :(. Using it is pushing it over the top. Thanks, Henry
  19. All, I have started to notice that when I run my vacuum cleaner downstairs in the basement it trips the breaker. How much should getting a sub panel installed and does anyone have any recommendations on electricians. Thanks, Henry
  20. This is still active I saved around $66 dollars tonight...thanks again for posting. Henry
  21. Hey Kenneth, Just making sure you meant Camelback Shrimp (Rhynchocienetes uritai) and not a Peppermint Shrimp (Lysmata wurdemanni) there behavior in a reef set up is a little different. Just something to keep in mind. Just added URL to each with a some info... Henry
  22. Ian, I concur with Grav. Most people on here that have some macro will have loads of pods in it. Just get some macro and you should be good. I have purchased the bottles before and there are no where as many as they advertise in the bottle. I even emailed one company and their excuse was they ship them out under full and in transit they are supposed to multiply so the number is only an approximation...lol. If you are out near Ashburn I could give you some...just saw you were out in DC. Thanks, Henry
  23. No pics yet but I will try to take some tonight if everything looks good. It came in today. Thanks, Henry
  24. Hi All, Just wondering where everyone has these placed in their tanks and what type of flow they are getting for best growth. Thanks, Henry
