You lucky punk. How does it feel to be a daddy. Thats alot of mouths to feed. I'd like to be first in line for one of the babies.
  3. So cucumbers filter the sand bed right? What are the odds that they filter out ich cysts that sink to the bottom after they fall off the fish? I've always wanted one, but read about the horror stories of them taking out peoples tanks.
  4. I also agree. The meeting was pretty cool. Better than I had even anticipated. Even though I'm still pretty new, it was good to see all the familiar faces in one place, not to mention relating alot of new faces to names/IDs. I also made out pretty well. I did a frag count today, and I have 41 different frags, 16 from today, more from other generous WAMAS members, along with a few I paid for. Now time to sit back and watch them grow. Thanks again to the WAMAS staff for making this happen. Since the group is sitting on so much $, can I request that the next meeting be catered by Ruth's Chris steakhouse?
  5. This one looks pretty cool. http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=HL1331
  6. Wow, I thought this was family friendly site. Its cool. I'm sure I'll see you at the meeting tomorrow.
  7. Since I don't have any large corals to frag as contribution, I'll bring some extra saltwater. Will two 5gallon buckets be good, or just one? I'll bring 2 extra heaters too. Is there anything else simple that I can contribute??
  8. I'm very interested. PM sent.
  9. Set your skimmer to skim "wet" and it'll pull more out of the water. The skimmate wont be as thick and slimey, but it'll pull more crap out of the water. I'm sure you would be fine in a few days.
  10. I saw the size of those tangs while picking up some LR. Your Yellow Tang must be of decent size to be bullying them around. I agree with the advice that has been posted though.
  11. If anyone has a 2.5 or 5 gallon kent aquadose that they are looking to get rid of, send me a PM. Thanks.
  12. Very nice. So the only question to ask yourself now is..........how long before you upgrade to a 180gallon?
  13. Very nice. I really like the aquascaping. Has any of the fish claimed the cave as its territory? What megapixel camera did you use to take those pics?
  14. Sorry for you loss. I also just lost a fish, my queen angel. Sucks. Fish are living creatures just like us. Sometimes creatures die from natural causes, no matter how healthy the fish may have appeared. And you also have to remember that fish have hundreds of babies for a reason, because many will never make it because of predators, growth abnormalities, or congenital defects. The fish we keep in our little universes are still very young, and at this age abnormalities arise that can cause death. My guess is that it wasn't anything you did. Think about how many humans used to die before we had surgery to pull out defective gall bladders or appendixes.
  15. 83 degrees is a little high don't you think?
  16. Just look it this way, it could've been much worse. Prior to getting into medicine, I worked at nationwide insurance. Needless to say I saw plenty of things that made me the defensive driver I am today. On a lighter note, its pretty sweet to have a nurse in the house. Free medical supplies!!
  17. Sweet. Thats what I wanted to hear. How's the cut from the accident by the way? If its not closing up, I have some medical supplies that I have leftover from my last job at the hospital. I have several sizes of suture strips. Just let me know. James
  18. Could you keep one of these with a niger and huma huma trigger?
  19. its not that we all don't have lives, its the fact that this hobby is the much needed escape from our hectic lives. At least for me anyways. I can feel my blood pressure drop when I just sit and look at my tank.
  20. Gotcha beat. I drive an hour to be a customer.....well only 50 minutes if just pay the freaking tolls. Your generosity is always appreciated Sean. I think you're the only store where I've actually refused a discount when it was available. That huge riteri anemone I got was worth well over $100, felt guilty getting it for just $50, let alone with some type of discount. If you don't support your LFS, it wont be around when you really need them. I guess I can still call you one of my LFS, even though you're so freaking far away.
  21. that is pretty cool. Stick it in an aggressive FOWLR and see if any triggers or puffers would attack it. I spend enough time procrastinating on the site as it is, without you guys putting ideas like this in my head.
  22. If there's no new fish shipment, then I'll probably hold off until another weekend. If Bemmer trades in her male blue jaw by the weekend, I'll make the trip though.
  23. So I think I'm pretty much decided against PC lights. I'm now deciding between a large T5 setup, with 8 bulbs or so, and a 3X150 MH setup with either T5 or VHO actinics. I've had people say they didn't like the light from VHOs, but their actinics are good right?
