  1. Nice progress so far, Terry. That stand is beautiful for sure.
  2. Tank looks good. Yeah, the overflow looks a tad big, but it's not that bad. I look forward to some updates.
  3. Thanks Terry. I didn't know you were local... cool!
  4. Yeah. If you look at the other FTSs you can see a 6100 Stream on the Wavysea return. I had that pvc tee painted black (not at the time of the picture), but I have since taken off the Stream. The new elbow fitting is white, but I have one that will replace it that is drying from paint. I'm going to let it continue to dry for a few more days... especially because I can smell the paint on it even after 3 days. I also have a somewhat large rock structure curing at the moment. It's going to go on the left side, and a few of the acro frags you see on the sandbed will be going there. I added 4 new fish the other day - 1 Desjardini tang and 3 Carpenter's flasher wrasses. Jason, I'm free most evenings if you want to stop by.
  5. Thanks a lot guys. Oregon tort Ocean blue hoeksemai Purple death lokani Superman montipora digitata Metallic red cytherea table Big branch bansai Steve Elias blue stag Incredible hulk acro The frags are nice, and I've noticed a wee bit of growth already in some. I also made an order at cherrycorals.com for some lps. The owner is a nice guy.
  6. Cool idea on the canopy. I think I've seen that tank before... it's an L-shape right? Nice holding tank too... it's packed!
  7. I think 2x24w would be sufficient for a 20L. It'd leave some space on either end for less light hungry corals.
  8. The aperture is 34/10 which is 3.4. It's different from the SLRs we are used to, and even the same f-stop doesn't mean the same thing because the sensor is a lot closer to the lens opening in a compact camera than a 35mm equivalent. So in this case 3.4 would be a lot narrower than we are used to thinking. That said, Dan, you still should be shooting at a higher (narrower) aperture to increase depth of field. That will/may require you to get a tripod or something sturdy if the shutter speed gets too slow. Also, you should be shooting in the highest quality possible, not "normal," (I know, at least, in Canon compacts there is low, normal, and high quality to determine amount of detail captured) and at the highest resolution too, if not already. Also, there are lots of blown highlights in the picture. That is probably from post processing the picture to blacken out the cabinetry... but you end up losing a lot of detail in the rocks and sand. Next time you can try underexposing the picture a bit, and then adjust the exposure manually on the computer. This way you can preserve more details.
  9. Here are few pieces I got today. Sorry I didn't pull out the tripod, so they're not too sharp. I regret selling my macro lens, so I'm planning on getting a new one soon. and also a few from an Atlantis order a few weeks back...
  10. It's a very small school/shoal of 13. I'm going to get a few more, but I just hope the original group accepts the new group.
  11. Sorry, normally I'm home only during dawk and dusk times. Here's a picture with all the bulbs though: I've made some small changes, and I'm making a few more design changes within the next week or so. I'll update with pictures then. Chris, sorry I don't have pictures of the stand because it's just bare right now. I plan on finishing the skin by the end of April.
  12. Thanks guys... I really appreciate your comments. Jason, you're welcome to come by. Just let me know, and I'll try to make time.
  13. Sorry tbittner, I'm still trying to organize the sump and back areas. Still a complete mess.. Semi-new FTS (with background): I am about to swap out the ugly white fitting with a black one. I also added about 9 frags from Atlantis Aquarium since this picture.
  14. A few more pictures: A. Ocellaris pair in frogspawn Yellow tang Pixie Hawkfish ORA Scripp's millepora Yellow/green tort with blue corallites ORA Nathan's green millepora
