Sorry to hear about the damage done, I guess on a lighter note maybe all the conditions were correct for this to happen, in creating a closed ecosystem all the conditions were correct in this setting as in nature..... hmmm just a thought, hope all goes well with the recovery.
ok i just called acme plastics and they sell 6" diameter tubes in 72" sections so we would need around 2 for 8 people they are $63 dollars each. does any one know if we have a discount with them (WAMAS)?
they would NOT be able to cut it.
i had to run extra circuits for my tank because when the DIY MH ballast kicked on with the PFO and all the pumps POOF ]]1dea3 , killed the whole living room, so i ran different circuits for the tank. i ran a 20 amp breaker with a 15 amp GFI and connected another outlet with the GfI so i have 4 outlets powered by the GFI, If one trips the whole circuit trips. i think im safe but then again shrk]] HTH G
im not a more experienced reefer, but........
I mixed garlic powder with some tank water and flake food and feed it to my mollies wich are being used to cycle the tank, it really seem to help them and they are still ok. i think garlic like it works for us helps boost the immune system
i would like to be in too.

wow sorry to hear, another idea is to get a return float switch gor you display tank to cut off the return, just in case it ever happens again, i have 1 inch overflows but my return strainers are 2" HTH, G
i got lucky to do my water changes .. my sump is in my utility room and there is a drain like 2 feet away from my sump/fuge then 4 feet away i have a 50 gallon rubbermaid trash can that i mix salts in and use a mag7 to pump back over to sump.
i have a check valve plumbed into my return so i just turn the return pump off and wait till the overflows stop overflowing and note the water level. actualy i marked it with masking tape so i have a reference, (my memory is short) my sup is a 75 gallon so i drain the first 2 baffles then refill. guestimates around 25 gallons.
nice pics, how new was the reef tank? i dont remember seeing it when i was there. that surge device is making me think of one for my tank. OH the Humanity...... :D Too Many ideas soo little space.......
