  1. thanks, I do splan to hook it up to my home network. I hope that it goes smoothly. I think it will be fine, just looking at the book is kind of daunting. Sandy
  2. So I just got my AC III. I am really excited. This will go on my 180. I do petsitting so am away from home sometimes. It will be nice to have something monitoring my tank for me so I don't freak out. The last time I was gone for 3 weeks I came home every morning and evening (I'm a little paranoid). I was looking at the directions last night and it is a little scary. I plan on hooking this up this weekend, I hope it isn't too difficult. Any tips anyone want to throw out there? Sandy
  3. they will catch and eat fish, I had a big one eat a pretty good healthy serpent star the other day. They will basically eat anything they can get their hands on. I say catch it and get it out. I am on a mission. I have got a ton of them in my 180. I am catching about 1 per night with a pair of hemostats and letting hem fight it out in the sump until I can get them to Tim for his mantis. They are very strong, and they are smart, watch out. Traps haven't worked so far. I am about to take my rock out and squirt something in their holes to make them come out. Sandy
  4. that sounds like dinoflagellates and I read somewhere that snails are sensitive to them. Sandy
  5. Man oh Man do I wish I had some chalices. I LOVE the 3rd and 4th ones. They are super sweet. Sandy
  6. I got one and it never opened. A few weeks later I realized the tube was empty. That was last year. The other day I was looking behind the rocks and low and behold there was a feather duster back there. I don't know why it went back there, but it is alive and well. Give it some time. Sandy
  7. I have found that the all white asterina's don't bother zoa's but the pinkish/brownish ones will eat them up. Pretty disturbing to see your Xmen's get eaten up by those durn little stars. Sandy
  8. Okay, thanks you all. I did more research on this problem and according to one of the gentlemen who designed this it is an tiny leak somewhere in the plumbing before the Super Squirt. So that isn't too bad. I was thinking of adding a ring of cement at those joints between the super Squirt and the pump and the pump and the sump. They said if it was only 1 or 2 or 3 of the outlets producing bubbles then it would be located after the super squirt. I did have this tank sitting full of water for a few weeks without the pumps running and never saw any leakage. I will figure this out, I WILL win!!! LOL So, I should have my anti-siphon holes below the water line? They are just above the water line right now. How would I go about plugging those if they are part of the cause? Thanks Jason, you made me do more research. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Thanks Dave and Steve.
  9. the returns are well under the water, the two on the back about 8 inches, the 2 on th sides about 12 inches. If it is a leak in the line, then I have a leak in all 4 lines. they connect straight to the 4 way and there are no other connections. It is flexible PVC. I think it may have to do with the sump. The pump is external and the sump is drilled, I have no leaking anywhere as far as water goes. I ran that tank with fresh water for a month before anything went into it just to check for leaks and the micro bubbles have been there since the beginning. I am wondering if it may have something to do with the flexible PVC. I hope not. Okay, I guess I will have to wait until the guys at OM approve me for their boards so I can ask on there as well. But I'm stumped. Thanks for your reply. Sandy
  10. Okay, I have my OM Super Squirt plumbed into a GenX Mak 4. I used flexible pvc. I have horrible micro bubbles and big bubbles as well. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I am not sure where the bubbles are coming from. Sandy
  11. Well I just got my first shipment of TBS rock. I certainly have a mantis in there. I can hear the click...click...click. So if I get lucky enough to catch it, might be two, then I will post them here for free and you guys can have them. They will probably be the small green ones, which are beautiful as well. I happen to like Mantis, but not sure if I want one. Who knows, but I will let you all know. That is amazing, I guess it wouldn't be too hard for a critter that strong to escape, you just never think they will. Sandy
  12. Outstanding, that has really blossomed since the last time I saw. You have done a fabulous job. I finally got rock in the 180. Sandy
  13. I use it a lot. I add it to my flake food and frozen food. Sandy
  14. I wouldn't go with a all in one either, but the Red Sea Max does have a skimmer. Those Finnex tanks look nice. I loved the one they had set up at MACNA. Sandy
  15. You can try a Furan2 dip. They use this for bacteria and fungus and also the pox. I heard it works wonders. I haven't been able to find Furan2 in PetsMart or Petco lately. Sandy
  16. Okay, I'll play. Submitter: Smarsh97 Location: My 30 gal cube tank Camera Used: Nikon 8800 Subject: Feed ME!!!
  17. It is not reef safe. It's main diet is coral polyps.
  18. well, I won't be able to go. I had to take a job for that weekend. My dog tore up her $2,000.00 knee. I just had it fixed 4 months ago and I just had finished saving the money for rock for the 180 gal tank. I am sick, sick, sick about this. :-( Sandy
  19. oh it's fine if they don't sell anything. I am not looking to buy anything. I just want to see that big tank setup before it's torn down. I saw it at MACNA empty but never got to see it setup. I heard it was amazing. Sandy
  20. I would be interested in going as well if I am free. I can carry a few people if you are smokers. I've never been to the store and would love to see it before the tear down. Sandy
  21. not all cucumbers nuke your tank. I have 2 in my tank. They are sand sifters and do a durn good job. Tiger tails are one of the safe ones. The ones you really want to stay away from are the more colorful cucumbers. Sandy
  22. I have a room reserved for Friday and Sat night. You can bunk with me if you want. Sandy
  23. I have a Starry Night Blenny, he is a SERIOUS algae eater. He eats better than the lawnmower did. You can see one here Starry blenny Sandy
  24. Those are Pink Floyd Micromussa. At Least that is what they were called when I bought them. The are spreading fast, I LOVE them!!! Sandy
