  1. congrats on the setup. It looks great. It will really look nice when you get some coral and stuff in there and growing out. On that hidden MJ, it should be cleaned more often than when it jams up. I clean all my pumps at least 1 time a month. A little bit of build up can drastically alter the flow without you even knowing it. Sandy
  2. the 75 was breath taking. I am sure this one will be even better. Sandy
  3. I am using it on my 180. I had to order it online. Sandy
  4. I've got an OM on my return with a Gen X Mak 4 pulling through the 36 in sump with no problems. I love the OM. I am running this on a 180. I am going to change the Mak4 and run a Dart on the OM here shortly and an Iwaki 30RXLT on the other return. Sandy
  5. I feed mine cyclopeeze, rod's food, coral frenzy, mysis all mixed up. I usually spot feed. Sandy
  6. I think he is using the Nikon D200. He takes really good pictures, even ones that are not of his reef. Sandy
  7. So after 2 hours of staring at this thing, I figured it out. I had the power cord plugged into the battery port. duh..... I'm good now for a minute, hopefully I won't have any other silly questions. Sandy
  8. okay when I go to the web and look at the status of my ACIII it says that the power failed and was not restored? I am not sure what this means or how to get it back on. It is monitoring the temp and PH, so I am thinking it is referring to the DC8. I don't have anything plugged into that yet. Sandy
  9. Okay, this may be silly but I can't figure it out. It keeps flashing a power failure on the main display. I have to tried to reset it but it is not doing it. I don't think it's a new power failure message but the same one over and over. I am not even sure how to check if it is a new one. I have it monitoring the temp and PH right now, but I am stuck on this. I would like to clear that. I ran the test mode on the ACIII and it says it is working properly. So what is causing it to say power failure? Thanks for any help. Sandy
  10. I tried T5 on one of my tanks and wasn't happy with it either. I went back to MH. I am now running the Outer Orbit with the T5 for actinic on the 180. I don't have many corals in it to compare anything yet. Good Luck in your search. Those chalices were very nice. Hope they go back to the beauty for you soon. Sandy
  11. I think it might be a pectinia. Sandy
  12. looks like an aiptasia and you can kill it with kalk paste or lemon juice or vinegar injected into it's mouth. Sandy
  13. Where are you located? My friend in WV has a 75 gal tank full of liverock that she is going to sell. I think somewhere around 150 lbs, maybe a little more. I think she wants 2 bucks a lb but I can find out for you if you are interested. I think it's been in the tank for over 2 years now. She lives in Martinsburg, WV. Sandy
  14. I think you have to do some research. How much are they new and how old and in what shape are they? I did a quick search and found a 125 RR for over 600, that does not include the stand. That was on the internet. You may find it cheaper locally. So I think that is a judegment call on your part. If you think it's worth it, then it's worth it. Just make sure you see the tank and stand before you shell out the bucks. Sandy
  15. You guys did a great job. I like the rockwork. Sandy
  16. Thanks, I may just take you two up on that offer. I didn't get to set this up yet. My mom brought my dog home (she's had 4 surgeries on her leg since Nov and has to stay with my mom because she can't control herself aroud me) and I have been just hanging out with her. Have to keep an eye on her because she wants to go after that leg. I think I am going to go ahead and plug it in and start the programming and then try it tomorrow. How are you all hanging the ACIII. I am not to sure of the velcro that comes with it. The DC8 can be screwed in, but the actual ACIII has no way to screw it to anything. Sandy
  17. My zoa's weren't distressed. They were beautiful, a whole big long rock of beautiful pink zoanthids just about destroyed. I was so thankful when I saw that asterina on there. I went on the hunt, once I removed most of them the zoa's flourished again back to their beautiful state. Sandy
  18. I have the pink ones that definitely eat polyps. Now my friend has the white ones and they've never touched anything. I had a few white ones and never saw them eating anything but algae. Sandy
  19. Thanks to Kingfisher and Chip. It really confused me. It was really a simple thing so I don't know why I was so confused. LOL. Okay, going to start hooking it up now. I hopefully will be back with good news. Sandy
  20. bumping in hopes of getting some help today so I can set this thing up. Sandy
  21. Does the soda water kill them or just chase them out? I have some porcelain crabs and florida snapping shrimp that I don't want to kill in my quest to get the gorilla crabs. Sandy
  22. So, I started reading the book and I am confused. I just don't understand something from the get go, that may be bad news for me. When they talk about the "control interface". I am assuming this is the DC8? Am I right about that. Also, for those using this contraption, do you have everything in including the ACIII plugged into power strips? Also, where in relation to your tank are your ACIII and DC4/8 located? Thanks in advance. I did read that whole other thread, but it really doesn't make sense to me yet. I guess when I get into programming it, then it will make sense. I mean dang, I can't even get it plugged in yet, LOL. Sandy
  23. I never had a problem with the white ones. It was the pinkish/brownish colored ones that caused all my problems. I have no more, thank goodness. Sandy
  24. I was told the same thing and then......... they ate the Xmen's and then almost a whole colony of pink zoa's. Sandy
