Fintastic's success can be inconsistent, as they do not quarantine any fish. It appears that they receive shipments throughout the week and immediately offer them for sale. I have experienced losses with several fish purchased from them during the quarantine process and have since opted to order from alternative suppliers.
I just cleaned my 55 gallon storage tank full of build up from mixing salt. Bought some citric acid powder from Amazon, let it sit over night. I then gave it a good cleaning with a power washer.
I battled hair algae for over 1 year, did the manual scrubbing thing, water changes, and lots of clean up crew. I won the battle by adding a algae scrubber.
I bought a couple of parts from Fish Tank Direct.

Following alone. I also cannot seem to figure out how much Kalk and when to add more kalk to a reactor. I just went the cheap way and mix up a maximum saturation point of 2 teaspoons per gallon into a 5-gallon container and dose 2800ML per day. My Alk is around 8.8 give or take with a PH of 8.4-8.6
My Aquamaxx HOB with protein skimmer dumped about 4-5 gallons of water on the floor. Cheato grew and got stuck on the return part and the pump just kept going and started overfilling the HOB. Cheato seems to break up and stops the flow. I have switched to a HOB algae scrubber to control the levels and it seems to work SOOO much better.
Thanks for the link. I keep my maxi mini and rock flowers in the same tank, they seem fine for the last 1 year. Don't know if I would add my bubble tips to the same tank??
