  1. I’ve cut power to the sump quite a few times. When I first installed it I surely made sure where my ATO and Sump are when power is out. I do however have a very nice battery back up with ReefBoxx and 12v lithium 60ah. Which would keep the return going. But should that fail I still have about 3” of a 44gal sump to go before I’m even close to starting to flood. I’ll try and get better shots. And post soon if the whole setup. My first nem split and is now 2. Handful of coral changes. Aero crab to try and kill off a couple remaining bristles worms I got off someone’s rock I added. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I actually ordered some custom guards. All and all the tanks doing well. Coral is flourishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. So I got my ReefBoxx about two weeks ago and setup was a breeze. It does take a little common sense but in the end I now have a very solid backup system with days of coverage ran to my return pump. Thats one area now I wont have to worry about for a prolonged outage. Customer Service is second to none. Received a call to verify how I planned to use and set the system up and was given advice, tips, and hints. Will certainly use on any future builds! Josh
  4. I run hydros controller. But I could do the same. My PH had been stable though. So j probably won’t until it becomes an issue. My thought was to put the skimmer on a timer. Your way seems to be a better controlled option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thats awesome. Yea it's a pretty simple concept. Glad it worked out for you!!
  6. No I looked up a bunch of stuff on it. It doesn’t have to return into the top. There’s two different co2 scrubbers. One that returns and one that doesn’t. This one doesn’t. And from what I read that closed loop system is worst for the skimmer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. DIY CO2 Scrubber.pdf Total of the parts I used and posted here $79.93 First take and drill a hole in the top of the container ½” or however large you need it to bold one of the hose barbs in place. Next you will drill around 6 holes (aprox. 3/8” bit) in the center area of the base of the container (note do not push hard when drilling as this will cause the container to crack. ‬Next take and cut the foam to fit in the base of the container (this will keep the CO2 Media from falling out the new holes. Add the CO2 Media. Cut hose to the desired length and make sure not to cut it too short. Slide hose clamps on the both ends of the hose. Insert hose and clamp everything down. This will help to raise your PH and ORP levels. My numbers for ORP were super low. This has brought it up 100 points in 8 hours. I will post pics of the final product when I get home.
  8. I’ll look into it! Thanks for the tips! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Funny you should ask, Lol, I just uploaded two posts with corals, Inverts, and my newest fish. Some of my previous post should have the others. Yes my heater is 1000W as I am heating 169 gallons roughly with the sump. I also have a battery backup on the return. Ill keep the heater on its own plug when I get my Hydros setup. As for corals, I am starting with easier ones and then working my way up. I prefer softies but will add some diversity as well.
