Sounds quite strange…. You could try mixing up a new batch of ESV and try dosing that…. Other ideas I have are take a sample to your LFS for a full range of tests and/or send out an ICP test.

I was never aware of a local shop. Closest I know of is Glass Cages, and I think they’re in Ohio….

I’ve never used ESV, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I’d say slowly up the calcium and back off on the alk until you get your hands on a magnesium test. Though another question comes to mind- does your Apex modify dosing based on testing? If not, then I’d dig a bit to see how things got so far out of whack. Or is it that there was 0 dosing with the apex down? Is there an LFS near you who could test for you?

Hmmmm. Why is the gap there? Why can’t you get the insert all the way up against the glass? Is it because it’s sitting on the bottom and hitting the silicone bead at the bottom seam? If so, can you put a spacer underneath the insert to get it above that seam and up against the glass?

If it’s just for aesthetics, leave that black spacer there as a backer and run a bead of black silicone up that seam to hide it

I’ll second the recommendation on getting a local shop to source the tank. When I bought my 260, I didn’t go through a local shop, and no one was willing to take on the move. Makes sense on the business side. Made for an adventure for me, but I ultimately enjoyed the experience…. If you’re in Northern VA, Reef Escape is a great place. There’s also Supreme Reefs, Blue Ribbon Koi, perhaps a few others. I personally use Reef Escape for some of my livestock purchases, and have had good repeat experiences with the folks there. My one interaction with Supreme Reefs was also great. Best of luck. Sounds like a fun project !

Hope the build thread offers some useful info for you. I haven't updated it in a long time.... Also hope you are able to get the movers back to actually move the tank.

Will the crate fit down the stairs to the basement? If so, I’d try to rig skids down the stairs, a winch up top, and use it to slowly slide the crate down to the basement. Going to take a bunch of folks to move into place. as you’ve discovered, no company wants to take on the risk. You have to take some time and plan it out. I had a similar experience getting my 260 gallon into the house. Similar empty weight. Check out my build thread for pics of the move….

Just food for thought - I QT everything, and I know I’m lucky to have space to do this. Even without that, if you set something temporary up so you could go fallow for 76 days, then follow the Hybrid TTM that humblefish put together: https://humble.fish/community/threads/hybrid-ttm-to-treat-more-parasites.87/ you get after most of the things you would come across without needing that much space. I use 5 gallon buckets with a piece of PVC for shelter, InkBird with swappable probes, heater, and air stone. Doesn’t take up much space at all.

not sure how often they get in new shipments, but it may be weekly. I think they’ll also do special orders.

I know the original thread was looking for local, but since someone posted about online orders and fully QT’s fish, TSM Aquatics (up in New Jersey) does a full QT of fish. I’ve ordered from them and been happy with the service. If you live (or ship to a FedEx pickup) in MD, you get cheaper shipping, or at least used to be that way. I’ve bought several fish from Reef Escape as well and been happy too.

If you can’t do a separate circuit, at least a separate gfci outlet in a separate junction box a little bit away from the other. Make sure when you wire it up the first gfci doesn’t shut off the second one. All about keeping the two out as separate as possible to minimize the chance that a single event takes out all your power to the tank.
