  1. Do you have an idea of which area you will be in?
  2. Oh wow, thanks... I have about 3-4 weeks to figure it out so I will let you know.
  3. So, just get a big rubbermaid tub and move everything over including the live rock and tank water and then run lights for the coral, a heater and powerheads?
  4. As the title suggests, I am getting new floors in my house and have no clue what to do about my 90g tank. I was wondering if anyone else had any similar experience or advise on what to do. It will be engineered hardwood that will be glued down to the floor so I don't think I can't put weight on it immediately but I shouldn't need to wait too long. My initial thoughts were either: Option A: Wait until half of the room is done with the hardwood, take out the sump and equipment, drain out as much water as I can into a couple of brute trash cans, move the tank onto the finished hardwood (try not to scratch anything), put the water and sump back in, do the rest of the hardwood in the room, drain again, move tank back, set back up... Option B: Set up a smaller tank in a different room that isn't getting hardwood installed, move fish and coral into that tank, 'break down' 90g tank while hardwood is being installed, then set back up when floors are finished If anyone has any additional advise, that would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance
  5. Oh wow, that's right down the street from me. I would love to volunteer or help out with anything I can if you need the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Where is the science center lab? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I tried looking around the area with not much luck. I ended up buying some from Bulk Reef Supply. I think if you wanted to pick it our yourself, you may be better off seeing if members have dry rock or cheaper live rock (that you can dry out if you wanted to start with all dry rock) that you could pick out pieces in person.
  8. If you are going to keep the coral then just keep the rocks, or at least the ones that work with whatever aquascape you are looking to do.
  9. Welcome... what kind of lights are you running on this? Also, (in my opinion) you have come to the right place, there are a lot of people in this hobby that just say, No don't do this, no you can't do that but here, people are really good at explaining why as well as giving alternative suggestions.
  10. Those pictures of your anemone are so detailed, I can't get my anemone's colors to come out like that in pictures.
  11. What kind of camera are you using? Sorry if this was stated before, I saw your comments about white balance but that's it.
  12. When are you looking to do this?
  13. Are they eating well/regularly? How is their appetite? -- Just wondering because a lot of times if they are stressed (or have ich and become stressed), they stop eating and then that could obviously cause a whole new set of issues... Just curious.
  14. Holy detritus... just make sure you get enough flow thru those rocks... Otherwise this will look awesome completely covered in coral. What types of coral are you thinking about?
  15. If that day comes, mine keep splitting, I have 4 (2 RBTA and 2 green) right now and the biggest one looks like it's positioning to split again soon...
  16. I was looking at both of these sites for clean up crew packages. Am I crazy or does this seem like a HUGE clean up crew for a 90g tank?!? 85 Dwarf Ceriths 29 Nassarius 27 Florida Ceriths 32 Nerites *** OR *** 85 Dwarf Ceriths 25 Nassarius 23 Florida Ceriths 16 Nerites 22 Assorted Hermits Does this seem about right to people? My clean up crew is a lot smaller than this.
  17. I think the guys at Artfully Acrylic make custom tanks. I know they do sumps.
  18. I would imagine either would work for GSP or Pulsing Xenia. I personally like the second option better.
  19. Do they have any coral or just fish?
  20. I agree. The second picture is of a baby fungia plate coral.
  21. Is this a brand new tank? It looks like you are just having a diatom bloom from the picture above. If it's waving with the wave maker, it's probably hair algae. I would check your phosphate levels especially if that is new dry rock as it can leak phosphates.
