I like them they don't seem to harm anything that I've noticed. I find them in the overflow box where they eat and get large.some say the bristles get stuck in your hand like little needles. Get some rough hands and won't hurt one bit

I have hundreds of them they don't bother any of my zoas I wish they would. I got them just to eat zoas now I have hundreds...I don't find them to be a pest I actually like them. They clean the rocks and sand. A+ in my book

It should have sharder valves. A high port and low port. You will need a ac evac machine to suck out old and install new. I haven't read the whole thread so I'm probally just talking. But you need to find out how many lbs it holds. There will be a sticker on it. It will say how we many Oz and how much pag oil goes in it. Once you find that take it to any repair shop and they can suck it down and recharge it. Shouldn't cost you much at all if you can't find anyone. Pm me. I can further assist you in getting it done. Now if you have a leak you will have to find the leak there's special oil that's uv detected it will pick up on to find the leak. But please do not just empty it out by pushing the valve it's very bad for the ozone.

Perfect Dave that's what I wanted to know. Tank is 4ftx2ftx 16 inches. It by no means is a small tank length wise. But height wise is small but he never goes to the top or even middle of his 30inch high tank stays on the bottom and on top of the rocks. He is really a great eel. Max length on them is around 36 inches. Tank is getting a recessed lid with hinge so the front opens and the back stays closed. I figured I would have the tank set up so he can help feed the sps in the big tank I have 2 extreme frostbite snowflakes that hose a hammer and a mp60(only at nite) IL look into that anemone any other suggestions on one's that don't sting. Like a carpet but they require high light. I can't fit any black boxes in cause the fans would be blocked by the top cabinets

^^^^ that's why I'm wondering if I actually can get away with a lower end light I'm limited on space for a light as its going under kitchen cabinets and the Marieland light will fit if I chop off the legs and it sits rite on top of the tank but don't want to go crazy on a led light just for a annemone. I can squeeze in my radions in there but I'm cutting the cabinets and don't want to. Don't need to worry about the water qutility or flow. Just worried about the light. And do I want to get a 300 dollar light for just a anemone when main thing in the tank is a dragon eel.

Yeah but need a little more to look at in that tank. And I want to add it just want to make sure it can't kill the eel or make it really sick

Ok I have 2 questions for the anemone guru's.. I'm setting up a new tank to be plumbed into my 450 set up. What type of anemone needs low light (ie marineland freshwater light) Since it's being plumbed into my main tank will I be able to get away with a cheap led light. Last question what harm will happen to a eel if it gets to close. Plan is to add my jap dragon eel with a anemone and a few clowns I know don't say the eel will eat the clowns. He hasn't ate any of his tank mates in about a 1 yr of having him. I don't know if adding a anemone will be a good idea just want the clowns to be happy also. But number one priority is the eel..

I'm getting a few quotes back from places it's actually cheaper to have the tank custom built to my specs cause no overflows no plumbing Yada than a premanafactored tank. Plus won't have to do any cutting or polishing. I don't know if there's any differences but all same size 1/2 tank thickness getting quotes all over the place. From 600 to 4k. What gives. I know some places may charge a little more for install price but 4k seriously.. I'm leaning towards the middle range don't want something that will fall apart in a year and loose a 1500 dollar fish. But time to do some research on the people before I committed to a buy. One of the names mentioned is a contender for the tank..fyi. Thanks gmerek2. And everyone else for the leeds.

Yeah I want acrylic as it's going on a counter top and I've found the 100 gallon pentagon tank the correct messurements just 6 inches too tall to fit where I need it to I was going to order one and chop it down to size but 1k and I mess up I'd be mad.I figured it would be cheaper than the 100 gallon tank to have it made. The reason I want acrylic is I need to drill holes where I want them I'm comfortable doing it in plastic last 3 tanks I tryed drilling shattered it. Maybe due to the fact it wasn't drill able no idea.

Wondering who builds custom acrylic tanks. I'm looking to have a custom dimention tank built. I've spoke to ic and they can not do bends anyone out there that can recommend a place to have a tank built

I have a fish room in my basement. And love it. I think I planned it out really well while having it set up for a while I found out I don't.. Room is 20x6 enclosed w door I have 3 drains in the floor that I installed and plumed into the secptic. Sump is plumed into the drain one valve at bottom of sump, one over flow tube at top of sump. I installed the valve at the bottom to do water changes witch is great.wouldn't change a thing here I have installed a sink with hot and cold water great for waterchanges cleaning wouldn't change a thING here. Vents. PH humidity biggest factor I wish I changed...I had one exhaust fan extremely high flow rate but wasn't keeping up it hit you like a brick wall when u walk in. Installed #2 exhaust fan sams size, open the door still hits you not as bad but still a concern I'm going to install one more before I actually dry wall the area.but I'm sure IL end up with 4 total as I evaportor 3 gallon a day. On a positive note I runs hose from my vent outside to my protine skimmer. I have ac and heat to the room (robbed from living room (don't tell thr wife) I have installed a elec box in the fish tank room so I can add up to 16 curcit witch is over kill but you will need more than what you think you will need. Better to have to many than not enough. Looking at your pics I would pick the one that best suits you eaither one will work just have to get all your stuff to that room. Your floor joist aren't cover so you can install exhaust fans in there no problem and run them outside. If u want pics I can text a few to you

I tought maybe it was water also.. but I ran a cord from 3 rooms over to it (bathroom gfi different circuit) Same thing 3 jbj 1000 watt heaters all socking. I noticed. I just fragged all my sps so had about 30 frags all high dollar died..colonys are just fine all fish are fine too much stress for the fresh frags

Ok so during this wonderful blizzard I decided to do water change on the 450 all went as normal no spilled water but noticed a little current running threw the tank w.t.h checked ground probe all good well. This after noon 15 hrs later go down in the basement chdck out the tank and no lights on.. so I notice the one battery backup working. Ok I just tripped something some how checked gfi yep turn it all back on stick my hand in the sump got the crap shocked out of me.it tripped again. So unplugged everything started with the essensionals return pump all good. Next 1000w heater zap nailed again unplug it thank fully I have 2 new spares. So try new one zap get nailed again unplug. Tru 3rd new one zap got hit again. I'm lost so I plug everything else in. This set up hasn't been changed in a year soo. How is it 2 new heaters be bad (no controler)...I tought maybe too much stuff on one curcit. So I ran a extension cord from another curcit to try it. Well zap I got hit again. Ok I'm at a loss nothing has changed nothing was different from now and a yr ago. Any one have any ideas what could be going on? My tank is ran off of 2 plug outlets different curcits w gfi. Plug one has 1 Battery backup 2 mp60 1 mp 40 Plug 2 has Return pump blue line 100 3 evergrows 1 1000w heater 1 protine skimmer pump blue line 40 Now I have a backup of 300w trying to keep it warm Temps are low. Fish were all on the bottom not doing well but as of 2 min ago all were swimming around like nothing happened but one 12 inch rabbit. Is there any better ground probes that work better than others. And any one reccomend a new heater rite now I have 2 jbj 1000w and I will never buy another jbj product

I don't get I've racked my brain.. No carbon no pellets of any type. no addaditaves no chemicals Coral food yes. kalk daily yes. About 2 gallon a day.(pickling lime and my well water) No vodka or vinguar no baking soda No uv I don't add anything but kalk and food. I can't grow chelato I've tryed for me last about a mth and it dies.. My tank consist of about 400 lbs of live rock in the tank and another 150 ish in the sump. My sump houses rock. 1000 watt heater,apex ph probe and temp sensor External protien skimmer. I am in the middle of adding a cal reactor. I have it all set up just waiting on a needle valve.
