  1. Male is in the frag tank, along with a male Anthias, nothing but 2 4" PVC pipes right now. Female is in the sump of the same system. No rock work.
  2. Walt, they are beautiful!, seems like your mom also likes them!
  3. I have decided to start to feed mine raw steak....
  4. Go LVL or PSL (Parallel Strand Lumber). I went with PSL's since you can get them pressure treated (our tank areas sometimes get wet...right?) for my stand, even though this is to reenforce the floor. They are the strongest and stiffest engineered-lumber beams. it also allowed me to have just corner posts (6" x 6") on an 8' long 48" wide stand for a 300g tank. Pics in my build.
  5. Thanks again, sound like this is a good way to go. Time to get a breeder box.
  6. If none of the above works I will try this. Thanks
  7. Thank you everyone. Maybe I am just not letting them figure it out. Yea, I really don't like watching them look like they are going to tear each others jaw off. The one time the male latched on to her pectoral fin and rode it for about 4 circles as they went around till I broke it up. I think I will look for an acclimation box, since I will need one anyway for my tank. Then leave her in it for a week or so, then try it again. If that does not work I will put him in the box. She is definitely larger then he is. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  8. ATI T5 is hung and looking good......man I hope that thin wire holds. Each one is rated for 50lbs so I should be in the clear. Yes I know, I t didn't happen since I don't have pics tonight. Pics are taken, just not going to get posted to my gallery by my wife tonight.
  9. The male is in the tank I want them in right now, the female (who is the aggressor) has been taken out and put in the sump for a few days. I should also take the male out of the tank? Do I then put the female in the tank and introduce the male? I thought since she was the aggressor that the new fish to the tank is usually less aggressive since it is new territory and the existing tank inhabitants are more aggressive since they are defending their territory? thanks
  10. Looking for a little advice: First try: I put the new Female (assuming female, a lot larger then the one I have from the same clutch I believe) Lightning Maroon Clown (FLMC) in the tank with the MLMC and everything looked good for the first 40 min. I decided to watch them for a while since they were not $3.00 guppies. I am glad I did. The MLMC looked like he submitted to the female, twitched sideways and was always behind her sideways. Then all of the sudden they started facing each other and going around in circles trying to bite each other. I broke in up 3 times and scared the new FLMC to the opposite side of the tank. The next encounter they got into the biting at each other again and this time the MLMC latched onto the FLMC's pectoral fin and I broke it up again. Now the new FLMC is in time out in a partitioned park of the sump. 2 night later: Tried the reintroduction of the FLMC last night in the frag tank and it did not go good again. In 3 min they were mouth to mouth, going around in circles trying to bite each other as she attacked him....so back to the sump! So now what? how long do I wait to try again? Should I introduce a Nem.?
  11. I am trying to get this guy paired up with another one.....so far no luck, they are going at each other like cats and dogs......or 2 maroon clownfish that don't like each other ....yet. He is going in a 16g tank by himself with maybe 2 other fish, and a mate if it works. No way would I put him in a non aggressive reef tank.
  12. Tony - is that light attached to the angle iron or just slid in between? Question answered.
  13. I have a ladder that will fold and can become a scaffold if you need to borrow it.
  14. Thanks for the offer, my son better help me or no computer for him! This is not going to be a permanent mounting position, I need to still get a rail system to move this lighting system, the one that is going to be next to it, and the 4 MH 7.5' long frame for the DT.
  15. Get an engineer....you are talking 2500lbs +
  16. In the frag tank that should have a 8 bulb ATI over it tonight....need to also cut some eggcrate tonight! Whose tank is it? anyone have an idea?
  17. Tried the reintroduction of the FLMC last night in the frag tank and it did not go good again. In 3 min they were mouth to mouth, going around in circles trying to bite each other as she attacked him....so back to the sump! Spent about 4 hours last night cleaning tank stuff, and building the mounting wire loops. I almost hung the 4' ATI light last night by myself.....then I looked at the tank....thought about Isaac.....and decide to wait for another set of hands tonight. Shooting for 3-4 hours of work per night to get this roilling.
  18. I don't care whose tank it is , it is an inspiring collection of corals.....actually I do care, I want to get some frags!!!!!!!
  19. Your Mileage May Vary.....Isaac is a young whipper snapper and lives by abbreviations.
  20. Just a beautiful stand  I love the detail, it really shows.
