  5. Haha no its a light fixture. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  6. The tall skinny one that is empty is mine. The 40 breeder was originally meant as a frag tank but we have yet to obtain proper lighting for it so its just a holding tank for our other clowns and a large goby. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  7. I almost wanna make this an iSpy game. I spy a 20gxh that is bare, a scattered mess of liverocks, buckets to spare, and a ATO box. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  8. Recently downloaded Google Camera and it has this fun Photo Sphere function. Here is a photo sphere of Duke's display tank and our fish equipment mess haha Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

  11. Aqua Illumination asked Facebook to share their favorite AI dealer and I mentioned The Marine Scene since I distinctly remembered seeing their wall of AI's this past winter. Here's the cool shirt I won: Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  12. All very valid points Dont get me wrong, I am not knocking Ecotech or Evergrow. I am always an advocate for trying new things. I agree, the false ads scream Red Flag! I would love to do a real review if they would give me a sample unit. Im almost considering to debate them with these findings and see if they would send me a sample unit. Ive asked previously but they only offer it if you pay upfront and then theyd reimburse after the first actual order gets processed. Everyone has to start somewhere right? 13. Here are some links I've compiled. Good and bad. All in all, unless I come across a MH combo fixture(under $100) or if Duke decides to build me an LED, I may save up for this system. A single nano unit is $109 and the master controller is $89. Feel free to throw in some 2 cents http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/member-tanks/128897-kellys-mixed-reef.html http://www.sdreefs.com/forums/showthread.php?109344-Lumini-Gemis-120R1-and-Glisten-150R2-Full-Spectrum-LED-WiFI-model-Full-Aluminum-Case http://www.mysaltyreef.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-8279.html EDIT: I just noticed I didn't share the manufacturer's web address. http://www.luminiaqua.com
  14. Hi all! Now, I know most everyone here is pretty much in a serious relationship with Evergrows and/or Ecotech. I have been searching for other options. I stumbled across an up and coming LED manufacturer, Lumini Aqua. All in all, their designs are fairly sleek, reasonably priced, and offer master controls (up to 31 devices over wifi simultaneously controlled with one master controllee). This includes their new "Spray Wave Maker" models. The master control allows for sunset/sunrise settings as well as storm programs which can also sync up to Spray Wave Makers as well. Ive only seen one legit review on reef2reef for the Glisten model and the member seems to have liked his unit enough to upgrade (yes they are upgradeable). Downsides (or rather, bad notes), I have seen forum posts of the company using false ads (I.e. tank shots with someone else's lights). I have yet to see someone post their own results. On paper it seems legit. I am seriously considering being a guinea pig for these lights. (Im looking at the Pixie model for my 20xh). They have 4 models of LED lights including one 120w pendant style, Asta, and 36w nano unit, Pixie. They offee two controllers, Smart and Master. One is for individual units at a lower price and one is for up to 31 unit controls. The Spray Wave Maker comes in 4 sizes. Check their website for specs and such (cant figure out how to attach these pdf brochures from my phone). Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  15. Idk if anyone noticed. For those out there on a very limited budget (like me), I came across KGTropical's craigslist ad. http://fredericksburg.en.craigslist.org/for/4462139834.html Sharing for those members who maybe need a tank for who knows! Sump? Quarantine? Frag? At the prices listed, it may be worth it to have an extra just in case. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks everyone! I think ill just stick to dropping lunch off for Duke at IC and use that for my weekly LFS trip lol. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  17. That was my thought as well!! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  18. Welcome! Awesome you have all the nanos set up! Set up some build threads and share your progress so we can all ooh and awe Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  19. I was checking out the handy dandy LFS locator and noticed a shop in Front Royal. Noah's Ark Pet and Aquarium? Anyone been? Thinking I may make a trip out there if its worth it since its closer for me than most of NoVA... (coming from Culpeper these days)
  20. Heres a peek of my aquascape plan! Apologies for the selfie... JK I love selfies!
  21. I'm assuming whatever chemical based cleaning method you use will thus make your live rock = dead rock. Once its dried and ready, you should be able to plop it in and it'll begin its new life as a clean rock and grow new stuffs all over it. At least, thats how it worked for us...
  22. Duke and I bought 100lbs of live rock from craigslist. We scrubbed them with plastic bristle brushes and let it all soak in a heavy duty tub with roughly half a gallon of bleach and filled with water. We let it soak for 24, rinsed, and repeated. Then we rinsed and after letting it soak in clean water for a couple weeks (alternating rinsing and drying in the sun). We took the extra precaution because the rocks were cheap but infested with bubble algae. We were still setting up our plumbing so we had the time to bleach off all life on the rocks. It is currently in Duke's 6ft tank and his 40b. Now most is covered in beautiful purple coraline. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  23. I just wanna share that this build is not dead. Finances and life have gotten in the way, and of course, my man-strength Duke has his tanks which are priority. I do have it aquascaped! Just gotta get a couple more things for plumbing and we're gonna make a fill and test run soon
  24. Duke posted this one to my FB wall a long time ago... Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
