  1. That elegance is awesome! Tasting the rainbow
  2. I'll play this game just for fun....... Submitter: swimmatte Location: My living room Camera Used: Canon EOS Rebel XSi Lighting: Kessil 15,000k LEDs Subject: Wellso from Exotic Reef Creations
  3. Thanks! I've been trying to take a new FTS but it's so hard with my lights. Once I figure out the settings on my camera I'll get a new one up. I honestly don't feel the need to bother looking for coral elsewhere as long as Richard keeps producing this sick stuff.
  4. Update time.......... So I went and paid Richard at ERC a visit and picked up some super sick stuff. I added: (2) More Rainbow Acan Frags (1) Black and White Ocellaris Clown (1) Blue Linckia Starfish (1) Rainbow Wellso (1) Rainbow Fungia Also, since last update I added some sweet zoas from the New jersey Reefers Club Summer Frag Swap in Edison, NJ. I got: Mindblowing Palys Rastas Red Hornets Tubbs Blues Here are the Rastas: Here are the Red Hornets: Mindblowing Palys Less blue on the Mindblowing: It's so hard to capture the true color of Rainbow Fungias..... but here's that bad boy: Nice pic of my Coral Beauty: This guy is IMPOSSIBLE to take a picture of...... And my new favorite piece:
  5. Yep, coralline comes in TONS of colors. Once you get a solid coating throughout the tank it gives a nice look IMHO. Free coral! As for the sponge, like it was mentioned above, light won't hurt it, but air definitely will.
  6. Is the maroon stuff hard? If so, could it be coralline? If not, I'd guess cyano or red slime?
  7. I have a bunch of those in my tank.... I never see them moving or doing anything, good or bad.
  8. I was actually playing with my largest emerald the other day with a sea squirt. I'd hold it near him and he'd grab on with a claw so I'd take him on a ride..... We repeated this 10 or so times......
  9. Omg... The worms are attacking. That's crazy
  10. Trochus have a straighter, more pointed shell then what you posted. I could be completely wrong in my ID though.
  11. Looks like a collonista snail to me...........
  12. Gorilla crab? I agree though, looks like a meanie.
  13. I have three emerald crabs in my tank and other than walking through some of my zoas from time to time, are a little showdown with a very large pistol shrimp once, none of them have been an issue. The only reason I think he was messing with the pistol is that he had lodged himself between a rock and the tank glass and I think he felt vulnerable.
  14. I tagged along on this order and have been pleased. Since he was the one handling the order, I wish I was the one with a could DOA's and the empty bag of water My pistols are still doing well, all of my snails and hermits are still kicking, emeralds are great, and my little $4.99 candy apple zoa frag looks great. Thanks for letting me hop on the order!
  15. Sweet! You and your son need to have a little pep talk with the peppermints.... Explain to them that they will end up like the DOA shrimp that he crushed while I was over there...... In all seriousness though, I wouldn't have too high of hopes that they'll do anything with the big boy aptasia. I do believe however that the army you have in there will clear the smaller guys.
  16. Looks like an elegance to me..... I hadn't looked through this build thread yet, Awesome job!
  17. Nerite Snail Eggs: Cerith Snail Eggs:
  18. But I guess to get back to the OP, and not my eggs that I could care less about. Is there a reason you want them gone? Are there really that many?
  19. I believe Cerith eggs come in long strands but the eggs I have are separate white dots, that look like the beginning stages of coraline. After closer inspection of the babies, I believe mine are Nerite snail eggs and babies.
  20. I do have Ceriths.... Along with nassarius, mexican turbos, nerites, and Astreas. No idea which the eggs are coming from though.
  21. There will be people posting items for sale a couple weeks before the swap. Usually there's a dedicated thread for it too. In addition to many members selling frags, there will be a bunch of vendors there as well.
  22. I have many baby snails and snail eggs in my tank on a constant basis. I couldn't tell you which type as I have 5-6 different types in my tank. I do however have to clean my skimmer intake a lot as a bunch of babies always end up there and die. I can say that I have some that were babies a month or so ago that are now getting a bit bigger.
  23. Schedule 80 is unnecessary. I am in the commercial pool business and have plenty of 200,000-500,000 gallon facilities that are running 10-20 hp pumps, pumping 500-1,200 gallons a minute at 30 psi through schedule 40. We rarely run schedule 80 except when plumbing heater manifolds. So if you want to talk about big builds.....
  24. I think the issue is, when people (like me) start out, they don't realize that the API kits are junk because every LFS and their mother sells them. And for the $40-$50 price tag that most LFS put on them, you'd think they would be decent. Eventually, I believe most people switch to a better kit.
  25. Cool tank! You should throw a couple Helfrichi Firefish in there!
