  1. +1 for Laurel Glass & Mirror. Very friendly, great pricing, and everything I ordered was cut exactly to the sizes I requested. Although they did laugh a little bit when I told them I was drilling 3 holes in a sheet of 3/8" glass.
  2. That's awesome! The parents looked perfect in the video you posted several months ago. Will you be selling the babies once they get to a certain age? At what age are they usually ready to be sold?
  3. Can you provide more details on that new light stand? Is it custom made? Any pics of how it attaches to the back of the tank stand? It looks very nice. Thanks
  4. On mine, just pressing the up or down arrow on the home screen cycles through different info, such as each channel's current on/off status, iTemp temperature reading, current amps being used, etc. I leave mine on the temperature reading so I can quickly see the current temp.
  5. It's on page 1 of the manual that came with mine: "Long touching 'left' LCD on/off."
  6. No problem. Seems we were typing at the same time. I kind of wish the display could be programmed to dim at specified times like the display on a Reefkeeper controller.
  7. Not as aesthetically pleasing since the power cord attached on the top near the back. Plus then the wall gets lit up. I just confirmed on mine that holding the left arrow key turns the display off and also turns it back on. Only need to hold it for about a second. Plus you can turn the display off from your bed with the remote if you forget to turn it off before laying down.
  8. Hold the left arrow button for a couple of seconds to turn off the LCD display. I think hitting the left arrow again will turn it back on.
  9. Sorry, pic didn't attach. Trying to do this on my phone
  10. I received an email from Reef Savvy about the raffle. Here is a link to the email, which indicates that all of the equipment is included with the tank. I hope the link works. https://www.smore.com/qhh2t-want-to-win-a-100g-reef-savvy-tank?ref=email This will make one lucky winner VERY happy.
  11. I have always had success pointing a small power head at the foot. But I would think it takes longer than 15 minutes. I usually check back later in the day or at night and it will be on the move and easily retrieved.
  12. You all should check out Mary Lee (16 1/2 ft; 3,500 lbs) and look at her 2 year ping history. Zoom in on Jacksonville, FL and look how close she came to shore in January 2013. She hangs out a lot off the coast of SC, where my parents live, and they told me about this website a couple years ago. It's really cool because when she got very close to Jacksonville Beach, the head of the research group who lives in Utah received an email alert and called the Jacksonville Beach police to let them know they had a huge great white in the breakers right off shore and to make sure nobody was in the water. From his home in Utah he was able to let them know when she had moved farther away from shore. Here is a link to an article about it. http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/400744/matt-soergel/2013-01-08/great-white-shark-reaches-jacksonville-beach-surf-break I check out the tracker whenever I am at the Outer Banks to make sure none of them are swimming near me.
  13. Check out pschom's build thread on nano-reef. It is a 30g rimless with the corner overflow. I assume the layout of the overflow is the same as the 75g with corner overflow. He has pics of the overflow and plumbing in the third post in his thread. He is actually local, but I don't think he is on WAMAS. Here is a link to his build thread: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/289775-the-inspiration-now-vega-powered/
  14. Thanks for the link. These look great for what I wanted. Was looking at a 5-gal carboy, but that only has a 2" opening, so would be tough to fill without spilling. Love that these have completely open top with available lid. They also have round ones and other sizes available on the site.
  15. If you want to clean the return pump every three months, you better change that reminder to 90 days instead of 180 days. :-)
  16. Put me down for 2 bags of RC. I can't go to meeting, so I'll pick up at your place. Thanks
  17. So he built an acrylic casing around the whole overflow box with a lid for the top of the box? Whatever it is it looks very clean without seeing all of the plumbing like before. Everything looks to be coming along nicely.
  18. Did you end up painting the overflow box? It looks like you did in those last couple of pics.
  19. I've had mine for 9-10 months and have never had to soak it in vinegar. I've cleaned the float a couple of times with water and a light brushing with a toothbrush. Is the glass on your tank pretty thin? I've read that the magnet can interfere with the float when used on thinner glass. They suggest putting a small piece of acrylic between the glass and the outside magnet so there is less magnetic interference with the float.
  20. Do you have a heated garage? If so, that's awesome. I wish mine was heated. Must be exciting to finally have everything moved over to the new tank. I hope you're able to figure out the GFI issue. Can you post a full tank pic?
  21. I'd split it with you if Richard will cut it in half. Love that one.
  22. Rambo has not concept of how to tackle.
