wow, thats a lot of salt for all that saltwater. dont think i broke the 200 gallon mark yet with my ro di. lfs here said i am probably changing too much water during water changes, so im going to only change 10 gallons every two weeks instead of 28 gallons every week.

i clean my collection cup and skimmer body once every 2-3 days which is when gunk starts building up on the neck. i dont use any chemicals, just use my fingers and running water, wipe dry.

ya, i stopped dosing vitamin c. guess it is not for everyone. on the bright side, the fishes are super healthy now. the clowns no longer have white dots on their body. have to wait and see if it comes back now.

yup, but i wish i knew what fish it is so i can at least know how to take care of it.here is more pics of it. after dosing vitamin c, i guess it dont work for my system 6 jul 2013 20 jun 2013 so i been checking out my sump since i added a bunch of rubbles and noticed a bunch of clear worms on the glass and a single bug that looks like a beetle that looks like it is eating stuff on the glass. also seen some other mystery fish in there hiding in the rocks. not sure how i can get rubbles without getting any fish. i shake the rubbles around to get most of the stuff off of them and then shake it around in a bucket of water and i still have hitch hikers. oh well. hopefull it dont die. cant take care of something i know nothing about. full tank shot.

try the metal clamps, just dont overtighten or you may crack the plastic piece.

i am trying to grow macro algae at the drain chamber of my sump. i been adding more and more live rubble in the area where the drain pipes are. half of my algae have died so far from the softball size i received from a fellow reefer, but i am waiting to see if it dies completely, then i will fill the whole chamber with live rubble along with a light to filter the water and if im lucky grow green hair on the rubbles.

i use a dj switch to turn the avast ato on and off. i also have a tape onmy sump to indicate the fill line. i fill the sump with water after water change just above this line and switch on the ato. didnt have a issue yet with my ato.

i use metal clamps on my return hose/jet setup and had no leaks, but mines was a tight fit even before i put the clamp on. was yours a pretty tight fit?

wow, surprised u are still able to grow chaeto while carbon dosing. my macro algae gets covered with clear slime which i think eventually eats the algae. the algae turned white. maybe i have to relook at my setup.

think ryan was using suction cups he got from either a craft store or home depot.
