  1. So you just let the food float around in the bottle until they grab it?
  2. I have some frozen mysis cubes, I'll try a bit of that tonight. I'm kinda bummed they browned up. I didn't think the sandbed would be too bright.
  3. I got this pretty acan last weekend. The blue was really this blue! The blue has since turned greyish brown and the red is beginning to brown as well. It is sitting on the sand bed with a par rating of about 200. I'm not sure what to do. Should I move it up for more light? Maybe less light? I have other areas of the sand bed with 160par (due to rock structure). I just don't know which way to move it. My lighting is 2 x 250w 20k, with 2 blue+ t5s, and 2 purple plus t5s.
  4. I need to show that to my kids.
  5. Wow! That looks sweet. I'm still kicking myself for not going with black sand.
  6. Thanks to both of you for the bulb recommendations. We will definately take a look when we're ready to replace ours.
  7. To show that my numbers didn't seem low to me. Also because I didn't want to compare my 20k bulbs to 12k bulbs.
  8. I did look above the tank, at all of his pics. The numbers I quoted are from the center bulb (400w radium) at 12" depth.
  9. The halides are on 6 hours a day and the t5s are on 8 hours a day. No carbon or ozone, but we are looking at an mr5 reactor from avast to run carbon. We haven't decided on ozone.
  10. The halides are at least 9 months old, we got them second hand. The t5s are less than a month old.
  11. 2 x 250w Radiums, 2 x 54w ATI purple plus, and 2 x 54w ATI blue plus.
  12. Preferred reefer is what you want. You will get group buy prices every time you buy now.
  13. Did the bubbles start before or after you replaced all the hoses?
  14. I was just laughing at those pics over a beer last night.
  15. Nah, that was someone else.
  16. You and I must have been on he same circuit. My wife and I stopped by and the service was great. We even got a funny anecdotal story from Johnny.
  17. That's nice. My wife wants a tank like that with rics and seahorses.
  18. ^I want to hang out with this guy sometime!
  19. You'll be fine. 3/4" plywood will show zero deflection for the tank, even up to 3" from the edge.
