Yep. We are carbon dioxide producing animals. Having been a submariner, we could not make it without our co2 scrubbers. So if you have a newer house, co2 can build up.

Agree, go back and talk to them. Great bunch of guys who aren't just there to sell u anything. I must have talked to Steve about my unique cube sum sump requirements and design one for in the spot and got it a week later. They have have stopped me from buying stuff that would not be compatible. So I trust them!

+1 These are my settings: Fallback OFF Set OFF If Switch1 CLOSED Then ON depending on what type of pump you use, make sure you use the right EB8 outlet. I use Tom's aqulifter in conjunction with the backup float valve and so I use either outlet 4 or 8.

Tom et al, I was thinking about this overnight (yes I do think about my tanks during the sleeping hours and this happened alot during my DIY stand build and plumbing build) regarding the 90 day ride.....Should credit be given with using sand from another tank, SW from another tank and the "cured" rock that has been sitting in a tub for two months? I have another tank to play with so I am not rushing to put livestock in this tank but want to learn more. For those of you who have Tony Vargas' book: The Coral Reef Aquarium from Inception to Completion, do you recommend buying the book? I will start water tests today. Thanks for far for all the help!

This is my second tank after I upgraded from a 29 bio cube. It has been up since jan 2013 but I decided to build a stand to in parallel with my 120p Ada tank. Took me four weekends to build both and I just transferred the tank last week to the new stand and restocked my livestock that was temporarily stored on my 120p. The DIY stand is 48x24x25 just in case I upgrade to a bigger tank (yeah rimless probably built by Adam..... Tank: reef savvy 69 gal rimless purchased from Pizzaguy back in November Lights: AI sol blues Overflows: glass holes 1500 with gate valves Return pump: mag 9.5 with in line check valve and chiller supply. Chiller hardly ever kicks in Sump: cube dimensions built by Adam. Outstanding build and quality!! On time too! One MP40W Protein skimmer: bubble magus nac 3.5. Looking for a bigger skimmer ATO: jbj bought used from a wamas member. Apex Lite with two EB8s. This automates of the work. BRS Dosing pumps using two part brs ca and alk. I use excell spreadsheet that generates th apex code that maintains my ca at 430 and alk at 9.5. Sump light purchased from hd using floutescent bulb Chaaeto in fuge[ section of sump. See my pics
