    Roozen

No, I decided not to go. I wanted to go because they were getting a shipment of Ricordea in on Wednesday. I think I should stay away from Roozens until I get a lot more experience on what pests to look for. I didn't spot flat worms on zoas from LFS imagine the damage I could do with something from a place like that. Instead I satisfied my itch by purchasing a few shrooms from this place http://www.caribbeanfishandmore.com/. I hope I'm satisified.
  2. Gorgeous! What are those green zoas to the left in the back of pic 2?
  3. http://www.caribbeanfishandmore.com/ Their prices for discosomas are good. I just placed an order. I'll let you know how it goes.
  4. So these are the same ones Daniel was talking about?

  6. Okay, so after doing much research I've determined that the anemones on the back of my rock are pseudocorynactis I've read more bad than good things about them. Does anyone have these in their tank? I believe the ones I have are from the Indo pacific because, unlike the ones from the carribean, these do not close when I shine a light on them. I have 3 that I can see. They are the size of a quarter.
  7. I'll find out if you are allowed to scuba there. You'd have a buddy right? Every now and then I see dive flags.
  8. It's in Falls Church. It's called Lake Barcroft.

    Roozen

I'm going to Roozen on Wednesday. It anyone wants to come along they are welcomed to do so.
  10. My understanding is that it is very good fishing. It's fully stocked. We also get fresh sand on all 5 beaches every year and the bacteria and other levels are tested every month.
  11. How many people usually show up to the meetings? I'd mentioned to several WAMAS members that it may be nice to have a WAMAS get together at one of the private beaches on the lake in my neighborhood. We have 5 sandy beaches but there's one just for such occasions with BBQ grills, stage w/electricity, gazebo, large lawn area and a sandy beach w/life gurads. Renting the beach would not cost a lot, under $200.00 I think. I have to check. Let me know if the powers at be would be interested.
  12. All of the mushrooms I had at the top of my tank have shrunk at an alarming rate. I had stock compact lighting and switched to T5's about 4 days ago. Could it be the lights? Are they too strong? I leave the new lights on only 6-7 hours. I've moved all of the mushrooms to the bottom of the tank. Do you think they'll get bigger again?
  13. And my shrooms and trumpets are beautiful. Thanks so much!
  14. Bob, This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much! Jan
  15. ??? No one else has a reply with how to do this?
  16. I've just aquired a 55 gallon tank and stand . Some of the silicone is peeling off. Can the tank be resealed? Would it be as good as if it came from the factory? How would I do this?
  17. WOW, nice tank! I want one
  18. Yikes! I'm very visual.....I'm picturing this.......Oh noooo LOL
  19. WOW, Beautiful!
  20. Oh, I was just have a conversation with someone about this this afternoon. I was told a story about a person trying to move a 55 gallon tank with about 1/3 of the water still in up a flight od stairs. While moving the tank up the stairs the seams busted. The tank needs to remain plumb. Same theory as when you set up a tank and use cushion to level it off. Any pressure while the tank is off plumb will add stress to the seams hence weakening the seams, and possibly causing the seams to come apart. I think he said 9lbs of water for every gallon would be hitting up against the walls. This is what was explained to me.
  21. Great! Thank you.
  22. 10 hours a day. I purchased the tank w/hood used and was told that the bulbs were 6 months old, but who knows. Stock lighting 72 watts of 50/50 (two 36-watt 50/50 compact fluorescent lamps)
  23. I just switched from stock lighting 50/50 compact florescent to T5 6X18. How do I acclimate my system from the old to the new? How many hours on and off etc... Thank you.
  24. WOW. Gorgeous! Have you gotten your wifes nano going yet? How's the favite doing?
  25. I'm very sorry for your loss. Does a fresh water dip kill these worms? How can we help prevent introducing them into our system?
