  1. Looks great! What size tank is that? REally very very nice.
  2. Oh man, another shroom bursts. My red spotted shroom just split and exploded. I'm laughing and crying at the same time. It seems that the red ones just don't like these lights. I've been leaving them on 2 hours off 3-4 hours for the last two days. It must be confusing the heck out of everything but it's been working with everything else, up until today that is,with the red spotted one. Everyon appears to be opening up and plumping up beautifully. I can't even try to grow them like frags because the center just pops out. Poor shrooms.
  3. Really really beautiful. Keep the pics coming.
  4. I'll gladly share when and if I get to them. I'd really like them out in the open so I can enjoy them. I'll keep you posted. Thank you.
  5. I'm not "worrying". I'm curious. These anemones are not dying. They are multiplying in 79 degree temp water. so I doubt they are the cold water ones. No, they do not eat just planktonic foods. There are two types as I stated in the post. Some that eat fish. Fish that are bigger than they are. I've posted my query because I need to make an informed decision about moving them or not. They are behind everything and it's going to be a HUGE task getting to them. I'd like to help them to survive. I also want to keep my livestock alive. Thanks for your opinion.
  6. I moved all that I could to the bottom under shade. I had 3 bright red mushrooms 1 disintegrated the other two went from the size of a dime to the size of a grain of barley. 1 purple one looked like it exploded. Half of it shrivled and it's guts turned into jelly. SMelled bad. I'm really upset about it. I really wanted to see those shrooms get big. They were an amazing bright red. The others got small, but they're hanging in there.

    Roozen

No, I decided not to go. I wanted to go because they were getting a shipment of Ricordea in on Wednesday. I think I should stay away from Roozens until I get a lot more experience on what pests to look for. I didn't spot flat worms on zoas from LFS imagine the damage I could do with something from a place like that. Instead I satisfied my itch by purchasing a few shrooms from this place http://www.caribbeanfishandmore.com/. I hope I'm satisified.
  8. Gorgeous! What are those green zoas to the left in the back of pic 2?
  9. http://www.caribbeanfishandmore.com/ Their prices for discosomas are good. I just placed an order. I'll let you know how it goes.
  10. So these are the same ones Daniel was talking about?
  11. Natural means of control http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/general...ral_pagesid=362 Some wrsse will eat them and maybe they wont. Blue velvet nudibranch eat them! Chelidonura varians nudibranchs http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/may2002/short.htm Read about them here. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_di...amp;pcatid=2198
  12. Okay, so after doing much research I've determined that the anemones on the back of my rock are pseudocorynactis I've read more bad than good things about them. Does anyone have these in their tank? I believe the ones I have are from the Indo pacific because, unlike the ones from the carribean, these do not close when I shine a light on them. I have 3 that I can see. They are the size of a quarter.
  13. I'll find out if you are allowed to scuba there. You'd have a buddy right? Every now and then I see dive flags.
  14. It's in Falls Church. It's called Lake Barcroft.

    Roozen

I'm going to Roozen on Wednesday. It anyone wants to come along they are welcomed to do so.
  16. My understanding is that it is very good fishing. It's fully stocked. We also get fresh sand on all 5 beaches every year and the bacteria and other levels are tested every month.
  17. How many people usually show up to the meetings? I'd mentioned to several WAMAS members that it may be nice to have a WAMAS get together at one of the private beaches on the lake in my neighborhood. We have 5 sandy beaches but there's one just for such occasions with BBQ grills, stage w/electricity, gazebo, large lawn area and a sandy beach w/life gurads. Renting the beach would not cost a lot, under $200.00 I think. I have to check. Let me know if the powers at be would be interested.
  18. All of the mushrooms I had at the top of my tank have shrunk at an alarming rate. I had stock compact lighting and switched to T5's about 4 days ago. Could it be the lights? Are they too strong? I leave the new lights on only 6-7 hours. I've moved all of the mushrooms to the bottom of the tank. Do you think they'll get bigger again?
  19. And my shrooms and trumpets are beautiful. Thanks so much!
  20. Bob, This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much! Jan
  21. ??? No one else has a reply with how to do this?
  22. I've just aquired a 55 gallon tank and stand . Some of the silicone is peeling off. Can the tank be resealed? Would it be as good as if it came from the factory? How would I do this?
  23. Yikes! I'm very visual.....I'm picturing this.......Oh noooo LOL
