  1. We went on honeymoon for 5 weeks with our 11.4g on autopilot. I had to buy an Apex setup and had our parents come over once every 10 days to refill the ATO with pre-made water in other buckets. The autofeeder fed everything. Only thing I wouldve done differently is set up a web cam to get a quick visual to make sure everything was ok. Other than that it was totally automated. 240 gallons is a lot different but the solution scales to some extent.
  2. Any updates? That's really unfortunate. I'm really wary of most algae control products like that. Edit; there's the update
  3. Makes sense, only problem is my scape is all NSA and glued together rock, without much room to add. I do agree that when the coral grows in thick that will help.
  4. I'm having aggression issues with my fish and not sure what to do. There's a pair of ocellaris clowns. The female is pretty mean (she nips me when I put my hands in the tank and sometimes draws blood). There's also a bristletooth tang who is pretty aggressive towards other fish. They are weirdly cool with each other. I also have an algae blenny in the tank who survives due to his camo - the tang chases him around from time to time but he's leaving him alone more as time goes along. But everything else has been harassed to the point of death - 3 Banggais, a couple of wrasses. Not sure if there's anything I can do, or if I need to take out the clowns and/or tang? Any experience here?
  5. Any updates on this one? Sweet scape
  6. Mounting the LEDs on the light fixture: The final result: It’s not as bright as the photo suggests. I do really like the plug and play aspect of the Apex Lunar Simulation Module. The lunar tables are built in and there’s nothing to program if you don’t want to. I’ve noticed the Ecotech app hasn’t done this and it’s something I’m trying to figure out. If they don’t have a lunar table then maybe a second module is the answer.
  7. Mostly out of boredom, but also because I like to play with toys, and I like staring into the Florida live rock refugium, I got an Apex moonlight module and LEDs to mount over the fuge. The kit: Mounting the module:
  8. Something cool I noticed today, a couple of urchins growing from the Florida live rock.
  9. Thanks! It was a weird episode in April. We had the bryopsis so I dosed the Flucanzole. Then when the dose was just about done, that thing hit and killed those LPS. Then I had a brief dyno outbreak, and then 2 weeks later everything was fine. I let the tank sit for 6 weeks and just watched. Everything was really doing great. In fact the only problem along the whole route was the LPS - the SPS and soft corals were doing fine. Strange, but the tank is firing on all cylinders now. I think the Florida live rock gives it an extra edge in resiliency.
  10. Terrible photo of the WWC rainbow blasto, but, you can see the heads forming. There’s probably 8-10 babies now. About a months worth of growth.
  11. Looking good. What is the SPS, is that a digitata? How is it faring in the tank....are you adding 2 part or something like that?
  12. Looks great! I've found dosing vodka impairs my judgment so I try not to mix it with my tank. The love rock is the coolest stuff!
  13. Yeah I love it! Im going to calculate out how much square feet I’m using and not using. Got some new trachys: Other shots:
  14. My custom dosing containers arrived from Lifereef today. What a difference! When I originally set aside 6” on the left hand of the stand floor I thought it would be for a controller board. As fate would have it this perfect setup just kind of came together. Really happy with it. Stand before:
  15. Good news, tank is doing really well, update pics to come!
  16. Sucks about the crash, but the tank looks great!
  17. Cool, looking forward to seeing it come together.
