Thanks for the link! Greenwich aquaria looks awesome! I'm sure they're pricey too.

Traveling Thursday-Monday on business. I've been disappointed with what I've found in previous trips. Does anyone have any favorites in the city?

Mr. Coral!!!

It's a frag from Exotic Aquatics. I had to hunt the thing down after seeing it in your tank. I believe you called it Rasberry Limeade. I'll let you know about the clowns via pm later today. Do you have an sps list I could take a look at? I know what you have for the most part from following your reefcentral thread, but a list would help.
-
Wow, you will have to let me think about this. I love your tank and have been following your reefcentral thread since I started the hobby a 2 years ago. I'm collecting sps of the ORA (have most of them) and the Atlantis varieties. Also have a few from Upscales on my list. Do you recognize the frag in my avatar?

Wow, thanks for the information. The whole bars connecting standards are something I picked up in reading through different forums. What I kept hearing was that two bars have to come together in 2 different places on the body. Thanks for calling ORA and letting me know.
-
If you grade them by ORA standards, which is just that two bars have to connect in two places on the body, they would be considered grade B. But, you would be hard pressed to find Grade B's this nice as far as patterns go. They're still juveniles too, so the black still needs to fill in and the white can spread a little more. Actually, I've seen some pretty mediocre grade A's being sold too. I think they're priced just about right. If they produce offsrping, I got a good deal.

I got them for $100 a piece. They were from a guy who breeds them in Hampton, Va. He posted some clowns for sale on reefcentral without giving his location and I responded. Turned out he was in Va, and was going to be in Charlottesville this past weekend. I live in Purcellville, but my parents live in Charlottesville and I was visiting them in Charlottesville this past weekend. The stars aligned right for me. He said he was going to use them as a breeding pair, but decided to sell them.

Here's a new pair of clowns I picked up this past weekend.

Can I steal that?

I found this little guy on a new acro colony. Any idea if he's good or bad?

There goes the christmas budget.

Blue Ribbon Koi has it, right around the corner from you.

They're great little gobies. They're constantly on my tangs cleaning them. I think their lifespan is only about a year to a year and half though.

I got two from BRK. They get them quite often.

I think you're talking about sharknose noby. It's a neon goby with a yellow head. Is this it: Sharknose Goby

Brightwell Aquatics NeoZeo Method [Long Read] but worth it
Sea Monkey replied to CHUBAKAH's topic in General Discussion
BioDigest and BioOptim, so yes, BioClean. I don't need to get into reef booster just yet as my system has only been up since May. I only have a few corals at this point, but will start the heavy stocking in Dec./Jan. I think I'm going to dose Zeovit Aminos instead of reefbooster. I've read some good stuff on that combination. I guess since Reefbooster is dosed weekly, that could add to the expense since one would go through that twice as fast as the Digest and Optim. I'm all ears on all of these methods, since I think we are in our infancy with these methods/products. I'm just on the Prodibio bandwagon for now and wanted to comment that you can do it pretty inexpensively. NeoZeo looks interesting too, especially when you guys are talking about bleaching corals regaining some color in a weeks time. That's awesome! -
Brightwell Aquatics NeoZeo Method [Long Read] but worth it
Sea Monkey replied to CHUBAKAH's topic in General Discussion
When vodka, vinegar, and/or sugar are used, you're not only boosting good bacteria, but bacteria at the same time. The non-diy methods introduce beneficial bacteria to the system. I don't really see where people think prodibio is expensive. I am running it for about $15 a month. Dosing couldn't be more basic. -
Awwwwww! I wish I was retired.

How high do you have the halides from the surface of the water?

Contacted WetWebMedia and they told me the owner of dynasty marine had recently written an article on collection methods for the Atlantic Candy Basslet. I went to their website and looked up their Virginia retail outlets. Here is the webpage: http://www.dynastymarine.net/retailers.html#va I would give one of these stores a call for to see if they can be ordered and at what price.

He means Lipropoma Carmabi (Atlantic Candy Basslet), not Lipropoma Swalesi (Swissguard or Pacific Candy Basslet. Good luck finding one. I've been looking for the last 6 months and can't find one online anywhere. Found a few places via google but they are in Canada or Europe. This is a lead I haven't checked into yet: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/liopropomafaqs.htm Looks like there's a guy/gal at wetwebmedia that goes by J. that may have a source. The post isn't dated so I don't know how old it is. I would write in and see what they have to say. Good luck! Let me know if you have any luck!!

I have a similar setup with a 120 gallon and a 30 gallon sump/refugium. I use one eheim 1262 pump for my return. I think the 2 1260's you want to do is a good idea for redundancy. The only drawback would be a little extra heat, but I don't think the eheims put out much heat at all. Make sure you plumb a gate valve on the return side of each of those pumps so you can fine tune how much flow you are going to get through your fuge. I plumbed my drains separately. One drain I am using to gravity feed my h&s a150 (money skimmer by the way ; ) ) The other drain I have a filter sock on to reduce microbubbles. Can you gravity feed a gsa standard 8? If you can, do it! I used flex pvc for my plumbing. Be sure not to twist the flex pvc into the joint when joining. Just push it in and hold for 30seconds. My dsb is 7" in the display and 7" in my refugium. Along with gracilaria in my refugium. I think your equipment selections are great. What are you planning on keeping?
