  1. I would have to throw The Aquarium Comany in here. They are located in Reston and they are a great store. Lots of excellent corals and nice fish as well. Sean has worked hard on the store and it shows.
  2. I was back home in Atlantic Beach NC, and happened to come across a washed up sand dollar and it got me thinking how cool it would be to have one in my tank. Would a sand dollar make it in a saltwater tank. Can you buy sand dollars from LFS, or online somewhere that are suited for Aquariums. Would the type of substrate matter? Just wondering. THanks Josh
  3. Ok, I have tried a couple of different types of montis from Orange and Green monti Cap, "Superman" encrusting monti, Monti digi. Every single one ends up bleached out. Do I not have enough lighting or is my tank just not ready for that type of coral. All of my other corals are doing great. Any suggestions. Thanks Josh
  4. Any thoughts on whether something like this would work. Also any thoughts on what size pump should be used for this? http://www.reefbuilders.com/forums/diy-pro...rflow-sump.html
  5. I have noticed quite a few serpant stars that are out when my lights come on. They arent really big but they are all in the rock work. Is too many of them bad. I only noticed 1 or 2 when I first got started and now I have counted probably 8 or so. Thanks Josh
  6. Here is another one I took and just had to post. Not a fish but a big baby
  7. THANK YOU!!! I was so excited that I figured out how to take good close ups of my tank. Thanks for the Comment again :D
  8. Well, The Picture of the month for May got me playing with my camera a little bit and got me playing with the macro shots and super macro shots along with aperature speed and such. Clown?

Don't anemones leave the black spots too on clowns. Do you have an anemone?
  11. Thats an expensive Raffle prize. Was there something in it that made you not want to try it. I guess another question I should ask is how long should it take to get coraline growth although almost all the rocks that I have bought have been purchased from other members and has had coraline on them already.
  12. This is all that I can find about whats in it. Iodine Replenishment: PurpleUp replenishes iodine, an essential element for coralline algae tissues that quickly becomes depleted in closed systems. Easy to use. One bottle of Purple Up replaces the typical multi-product recipe for successful coralline algae growth favored by advanced aquarists. Contains Super Sea Calcium, a natural calicum derived from pristine tropical oceans. Treats up to 4730 gallons. Dunno. It has pretty good reviews from marine depot but I would rather hear testimonials from here
  13. Anyone ever use purple up to help accelerate Coraline Growth or any other products. I have some purple on my rocks but nothing growing on the tank yet. http://www.fish.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=710013 Any negatives, positives, is it safe, anyone have any extra that they dont need. Thanks Josh
  14. I did have a pair of false percs a few months ago but I got attacked by ich. :( I have been waiting what seems like forever to get a fish back in my tank.
  15. Here is a Pic of the little Guy I got from Sean. He is so small. I get scared in the mornings cause he hides behind the black trim of the tank and he is so small I dont see him. He is doing great. And cant wait for Sean to get more of these little guys in so I can get a tank mate.
  16. Well I have started using RO/DI water instead of Tap. Which has really helped. I have used a chemical called chemi-clean and it worked for one round but it all just came back. Other than that I have just be trying to keep up with water changes and suck up as much of it as I can with a turkey baster I will get you my water params in a bit. Thanks for the Compliments. Josh
  17. Ok, So it has been a while since I have given an update. I have been letting my tank sit fishless for a while now to let the Ich clear out. It has been more than enough time. I have also been batteling algaes of diffent kinds. Here are some update pictures with what corals have survived the algae attacks and with my new True Perc that I got from Sean at Aqua Co. It is the Cutest Little Juve. with the greatest coloring, I just love it. My Toadstool that I got from YbeNormal is doing great and just doing great. I also have some leathers and mushrooms that are looking great as well, some from Ybe. and others from txaggies07. I got a couple of large peices of LR and it just really makes the tank look so much better and the clam really loves its new spot. If anyone has anything that they would like to contribute Please let me know Hope everyone enjoys!!! Sorry about the algae I still havent totally won that battle But anyways here are the Pics.
  18. Seans store is Great. I picked up a nice little True Perc. I will put some pics up little later. He also has a great selection of corals with great prices. Gotta give props to Sean and Crew they have done a great job
  19. Anyone going to check this out. I def. wouldnt mind a free tank but dont have the ability to get it myself. If someone is getting one I can help them if they help me If its even real
  20. Thanks for the site, I will take a look at it. As far as drilling I dont think my tank can be drilled because of the glass :( but will def. look into the other types. Thanks Josh
  21. So instead of paying for an expensive(for me) overflow I was thinking about trying to make something myself. Anyone have any DIY Overflow setups or has anyone seen any that work yet are cheap. Here is the sump that I have so I have to be able to adapt it to the sump. Thanks' Josh
  22. Well I guess we are the only ones interested in this :( Oh well Just a thought

If you are near by Reston, I can probably get you one of the mushrooms that Ybenormal gave me, They have been really hardy and are looking really good. Let me know. Thanks Josh
  25. I was wondering if there was any way to get a Parsite/Disease/Bad stuff forum opened up. This could be used as a central location for people to post questions about strange things in their tanks that may be bad and how to fix them. Things like Bristle worms, Different algaes, Ich, Fin Rot, ETC. Just thought I would see what everyone else thought and if there was enought interest maybe the Officers could get it opened up. Thanks Josh
