  1. I have some of these white tube things growing on my rock. They look a lot like feather dusters but the tubes look different more like some other type of worm. If its not a feather duster, are they bad. Also There are little white tubes starting to form along the back of my tank on the glass. They are the same white tubes as the thing in the picture but alot smaller for now. Thanks for the help. Josh
  2. Hey Johnny, I was wondering if you have or if you can get a Barnacle Blenny. Also can you give me some information about their temperment and such. Thanks for the help Josh
  3. Ok, I have a rediculus algae outbreak in my tank and I think that the main cause is because I used Tap water when I first started. I am thinking about Semi-Starting over. What I would like to do is pretty much drain all of the water out scrape the green algae off the sides of the tank, wash or scrub the LR somehow and refill with RO/DI water only. I have some corals and a clam that are doing great and really hate to take them out of the main tank for a long time. I just thought that I would see what everyone had to say about this. And if anyone could offer suggestions. One question I had was how to clean the LR without having to re-cure it totally. Also Will i have to re-Cycle my tank and wait before I put everything back in there. The other thing is that I am hopefully going to be moving soon. Would you recommend waiting to do all this then. Also Any suggestions for the move :P I know its alot of questions and things but I appreciate all of the help. Thanks Again Josh

    QT

I have set up a quarantine tank to help keep ICH and other diseases out of my tank. I have put a cheap damselfish in there for now to just test and make sure that it is good to go. I was just wondering how long everyone QT's New livestock before putting in main tank. Do you QT corals as well or just Fish and Inverts? Thanks for the Info. Josh
  5. The last picture that you posted was EXACTLY what I had about a month ago. It started to get on some of my corals and I thought it was starting to affect them. I used Chemi-Clean and it cleaned it right up. It hasnt returned. YET!! The Chemi-Clean will wipe it out so it is worth a try. It will probably return if there is an Underlying problem. I am pretty sure that mine was RO/DI. I would probably test yours just to make sure that everything is ok. But def. give it a try, it will wipe it out before it overruns everything. Hope this helps. Good Luck Josh
  6. Ok, Newbie here. RTN, What is it and can it spread to other corals. I looked it up a little but wasnt sure about some of the specifics. Alot of the sites I looked at said that it could be physical damage or something like that. I have some ?Pacillipora? that really isnt looking good at all either. It seems that alot of my LPS Corals are having problems. All of my softies are doing great. I am thinking of following Gmubeaches lead and sticking with Softies for now. I will try to post some Params here soon, sorry for the delay been a little busy. Thanks Josh
  7. Just wanted to post some pics of the Toadstool Frag that I got from YBe. Here it is when I first put it in my tank as it started to open. And Here it is now Fully open and already growing. Thanks Again Bob, I just love this thing it is soo cool and seems to be doing great.
  8. Ok, Well I went to do a water change today and I think I found the problem. My salinity was out the roof. I did some major diluting and so we will see how it goes. Thanks Josh
  9. Any ideas why this coral is starting to bleach? There are two tips that are starting to turn white? One towards the left of the pic and one to the right. Any suggestions or ideas. Thanks Josh
  10. I used Chemi-Clean in my tank recently cause I had a bad case of red slime algae(Cyano). If that is what you have it worked pretty good for me and it is supposedly safe for everything. I did have to use more than the recommended dosage but not much. Staying clear so far. One of the key points about this that I keep hearing is that if you dont fix what is causing the problem then its just going to come back after a while. I was using regular tap water and I am pretty sure thats what caused it in my tank. I have started using RO/DI Water and a good skimmer and it seems to be staying clean so far. Hope this helps Josh
  11. I had my small piece of Hammer fall into my big frogspawn and it actually didnt look bad. I was just wondering it is typical for them to not bother eachother or if it just didnt have long enough to take affect. I deffinitly sepparated them but just wondering. Any comments?
  12. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and info. Johnny Please let me know your source works out and you get some I will deffinitly be there to get it when you do
  13. Ok, So I am thinking about getting an Onyx Clown when I am able to get fish again and was looking for some good sources. I have looked on live aquaria and a couple of other places. I am considering Rods Reef Does anyone have experience with Rods Reef or anyone have better suggestions. If anyone currently has Onyx clowns please post a pic and where you got it. Thanks for the help Josh
  14. I am getting over an Ich attach myself. I wish you luck if you do have it.
  15. Retrofit is pretty much a Do it yourself kit that you build into a canopy.
  16. Well, I actually moved it to my little 10 gallon QT just to give it a try before it died and killed everything. I put it in last night and it doesnt look like it is going to make it. I think that I am going to be without an anemone for now. I just dont want to risk it killing everything. I have other things that clowns can host in when I get more clowns. Thanks for the offer though. As far as treatment for Ich, No I am just letting it cycle through. 6 Weeks to go on the other hand now that I think about it. I have used I think it is ?Chemi-Clean? to get rid of my red slime algae which has totally removed all of that annoying algae. I guess that could have something to do with it but I guess that it was better to lose an anemone than to lose my corals from the algae attaching to them which was starting to happen. Thanks for the Offer again though and thanks everyone for the advice and info. Will let everyone know when I decide to get another but it will be a while Thanks Josh
  17. So far so good. Doesnt come out much but its still movin :P
  18. So far no. When I first put him in the tank he was kind of mad and wouldnt let anything near him. Now he does fine. He has finally started coming out into the open. He has been staying behind the rock with the cucumber. Hasnt attacked anything else lately but then again I dont have any fish anymore at the moment.
  19. Here are some Updated Pics. Some of them are a little closed because I just moved some stuff around. I just wanted to send a special Thanks to Ybenormal and txaggies07 for the new corals. Their tanks were great and really enjoyed them. I know there are a lot but hopefully you guys dont mind. New Toadstool not quite opened all the way but getting there quick :D Monti Cap from Winter Meeting Dont remember what these two are but when they are open all the way they look great. Neon Green Mushroom. HUGE When fully open. Kinda closed up in these pics from moving stuff. will get more when it opens again. New Hammer New Leather Devils Hand I think it is? Not fully open will get a better shot tomorrow New ZOOs New mushroom covered rock Coral Banded Shrimp pics Cant ever get the name of this right Priscip i something :P
  20. Well, if anyone is interested in trying to take it and revive it and would like to donate to help contribute to the cost of the anemone let me know. Can take corals, LR, or cash If anyone is interested Any other suggestions are welcome
  21. I have been feeding the anemone and the clam with a turkey baster and spraying it down stream and in the direction of them. Its just weird cause everything else is doing fine.
  22. Ok, So here are my parameters. Alk 143.2 PPM Phosphates .25-.5 PPM on the lower end of that Nitrates 20 PPM All of these are estimates but should be fairly close its one of those kits where you have to put the drops in the water and compare it to a color chart or whatever. Let me know if you need anything else If it was too close to the light it would move, Correct? It just moved itself to where it is currently which is at the top of the tank. I can detach it and try to get it down some if you think that will help. Thanks
  23. No Dosing, The only inhabitants are some corals, if you look at my signature there is a list of them, I have some peppermint shrimp, a skunk cleaner, and a coral banded who stays hidden all the time. Other than that, thats all I got other than a clam. I will check water params and get back.
  24. Here are some Pics. I have had it for a little over a month. Let me know what you think Thanks
  25. I was just wondering how you know if an anemone is dieing or dead. Mine is looking pretty rough and I want to get it out if it is dieing. I know that they go through a "Purge" of waste and I want to make sure that it isnt dieing or whatever. Thanks for the help Josh
