  1. Put me on your list! Thanks :-)
  2. This is like buying stock :-) How do I get in on "futures"?
  3. Going to Costco today to pick up the 12 pound bags of Arm & Hammer Baking soda @ $4.59 each. Fishdrummer = 3 bags Seantadez = 2 bags
  4. Ok - I'll post a final count (who wants what) probably the day before I go in case anyone wants to jump in or back out. I plan on going to Costco either Tuesday or Wednesday.
  5. I also started the Group Buy for MAG & Dowflake http://www.wamas.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14158
  6. I checked with hubby and he may be going to Costco next week like Tuesday/Wednesday. No promises - but post how many bags you would want if he goes. Jamal - still want 3? Fishdrummer - still want any? Jose Antonio - how many bags?
  7. I hope there hasn't been a misunderstanding. The group buy (which I'll start on the Group Buy board tomorrow or Saturday for sure) will be for the MAG and Dowflake. Sorry but you guys are on your own for lugging those 12 pound bags of baking soda from Costco!! :-)
  8. "Eve, we do have several turaki right now, and have they colored up nice!! John" Put a few on that "off limits" top shelf of yours and save them for the social!! :-)
  9. "By the way Eve, I also have 3 Acropora Turaki in the shop right now." Byron - I hope you aren't just toying with my affections? :-) I'm PMing you!
  10. Costo in Gaithersburg has 12 pound bags for $4.59 each I'll probably do a group buy in the next week for MAG and Dowflakes as soon as I decide whether to order from Buckeye or Twopartsolutions.com - haven't done a price comparison!
  11. I love that coral that looks like a true powder blue acro in the 3rd pic (on the far left) and 4th pic (center/right). Do you have any frags of that laying around? :-)
  12. Hi Jason, "I've come to settle on a plan for a mixed reef, some softies, sps and lps. I think Eve's tank is a fantastic example of what can be done with 2 part solution." Just to make sure you have all of the facts to make a good decision, I don't use 2 part (or any other additives) on the softies/lps tank. I only use 2-part on the SPS tank. In my opinion, if you are just setting up the tank and even if you are transferring everything over from a tank 1/2 the size of your ultimate tank, you don't need to do 2 part or use a calcium reactor. Do regular water changes until you have a reason to start supplementing.
  13. I'm really glad I made the trek to Rebecca's and John's. Thanks to both of your for your hospitality :-). Doug - We just ran out of time, but I'll catch you another time for sure. I hope you picked up your purple stag frag? Rebecca - Your house is beautiful and the beautiful tanks add to it all. I admire the neatness and I hate anyone who has the luxury of a fishroom!! :-) John - wow - I love the tanks, especially the ones in the corner! The black tangs are a sight to see in person. Hope you feel better :-) Eve
  14. Tony, I'd be glad to do it. I'm probably one of the few with a big tank but not many fish :-( Only problem is that 1) I'll be away for a week starting Sunday (Michael will be home though) and 2) I have a smallish Sohol that recently made my Sailfin his person chew toy. Don't know whether I could guarantee he won't take a liking to any of yours. I'm able if you're willing.
  15. Dave (dhoch) - keep a piece of the yellow milli for me. I might not make the meeting, but we can make other arrangements.
  16. I do too. I just started recently because they were a little on the thin side.
  17. Rebecca - the above is usually what happens. Don't get too discouraged! You throw everything at it that you (and anyone else) can think of and then one day it just starts to go away :-)
  18. We should be able to make it (2). Do we PM each individual separately for addesses/phone numbers or will the info be posted somewhere?
  19. Is the "taste" filter the same as what some people call the "softner" after the DI?
  20. Congratulations!! It's an accomplishment when you can get anything in this hobby hooked up and running properly with miminal aggravation ;-)
  21. I would say no but Michael might disagree :-) Call me crazy - but I wanted to talk to an electrician about the practicality of a Banner back-up type system for a few essentials for the house. It's not reef-related so I'll shoot you a PM.
  22. Thanks much - I am a proud parent :-) Six-line - the pics are great. I really admire both your and Chris' photography skills!!
  23. Now I find out! We could have at least gotten a consult yesterday :-)
  24. Good morning :-) WOW Chris - the pics are great and thanks all for the kind words!! Rebecca - I'll PM you later with the recipe Here's info on the 2-part. I'll also post this on the other (Intro) thread On the 2-part - Dandy7200 posted this link on another thread. This is sort of a one-stop shopping point. Not only do they sell the supplies, but there are links to both the video of how to make the 2-part but there are links to Randy Holmes-Farley's articles about making and using 2-part. http://www.twopartsolution.com/ You can also get the supplies from Buckeye Field Supply. http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com/showprod...howspecials=124 I haven't done any price comparisions.
