  1. If you have never been to see Khanh's tanks, it is worth a trip. He has an efflo that is simply mind blowing! I am a huge brain fan (insert own joke here), and the pictires he posted do not do the corals justice. They are absolutely beautiful.
  2. Pictures do not do Khahn's tank justice. His corals are incredible, his two efflos alone will make you cry. Go by and see it them in person, it is worth the trip.
  3. John, I'll take one and pick it up on Saturday.
  4. Odd but interesting experience, thank you George. Maybe they are simply too unpredictable. In all my reading I never came across anything labelling them as jumpers. I am still interested in seeing if we can match our schedule so I can come to see your tanks. One of these days....
  5. I am looking for those that have either pair of angels to share their experience with me. Over the past six months I have had a pair of each; the Watanabes I ordered from The Marine Center and the Swallowtails I bought from Roozens. Both hid for the first two days then swam out in the open and ate well; both never bothered or were bothered (that I saw) by other fish; both swam in and out of rocks and explored the entire tank. Both stopped eating in the third week and died shortly there after. I have read up on them and have seen conflicting articles. Some say they are hard to get to eat, especially the Watanabes. Other say they are among the easiest Angels to keep. I would love to try again but don't want to just kill them if I am doing something wrong. The Watanabes went in my 360, the Swallowtails in a 40 gallon QT that I set up just for them. The Watanabes were good sized (the male was 4" or 5" the female 3" or 4"), the Swallowtails were a little smaller. Is it a coincidence that both went through the same process in the same length of time? Can those of you that have them share what your experience has been? Thanks.
  6. What a game of two halves. Italia played better in the first half, France the second. I did not expect that from Zidane, he completely lost his cool and most likely cost his team the win. But it's all over and Italia won. Camponi del mondo.
  7. Hey JM, good luck to you and your team on Sunday. Don't feel bad, second place is not bad at all!
  8. Tygger, We made a lime group buy a while ago and I have more than I will ever use. If you want, come over with a container, I will be glad to give you more than enough to get you started.
  9. Yomeister, I agree that Barthez is the weak link. I have seen him make some pretty silly mistakes; I have not watched every France game, but he has not been really tested in those I have seen. Hopefully we can test him early and often, he'll fold. Leishman, we'll do our best to comply with your request!
  10. I have a good feeling about Sunday's game, which worries me to no end. Italia has played better each game, I thought they completely outplayed Germany on Tuesday. Pirlo and Grosso had outstanding games, Cannavaro is my new God. But I have to give credit where it is most due, and that is Lippi. Italia finally has a coach that is offensively minded. He definitely did not want the game to go to penalty kicks, all three substitutes were attackers. And it paid off. More power to him. I am not even going to look at the qualifying schedule for Europe 2008 until next week. First thing first. We apparently have a 12 year cycle. We were in the final and won in 1982; we were in the final and lost in 1994; we are in the final (and will win) in 2006. It should really be a good game Sunday. I'll be watching and cheering and jumping up and down like a fool. Oh yeah, the screams you will hear will be from me. We have to beat those hated frechmen. One last time for this World Cup: FORZA ITALIA!
  11. Yomeister, you come across as a very intelligent person. Please don't tell me that is incorrect and you actually are rooting for France! I am hoping they beat Portugal but only so Italia can destroy them on Sunday. Forza Italia!!
  12. Yes, Italia is still in it. How about that? Yes, I have read all the whining about not deserving to be there due to the pk against Australia. Get over it. Australia played a man up for a full half and could not muster a decent shot on goal. They deserved to lose. The pk was merited, that absolutely was a foul. Personally, I would not have called it given the fact it happened just before the end of the game, but what the H-E-double hocky sticks is the Australian player doing taking that kind of chance? He got beat and brought the player down. No one is mentioning that Italia's defense has been nothing short of extrordinary. We have not given up one goal (the goal against the US was an own goal), and other than the game against the Czech republic Buffon has not been tested at all. Our midfield is dispersing the ball well and setting up our forwards as they should. If Totti could actually shoot straight, we would have scored at least three more goals. We belong there. Germany is going to be tough, they have a solid team throughout. The fact they are the home team makes them the favorite, it should be a good game. Portugal absolutely does not belong there. They have played poorly and have created no scoring chances to speak of. France, as much as it pains me to say this, has constantly improved after the first round. Zidane looks like is 10 years younger than he actually his and Henry is making the most of the few chances he is getting. So who will win? I desperately want a rematch of the 1990 European Championship when France stole the match from Italia. We'll see.
  13. The Earth stops rotating, time stands still and the sun always shine when the World Cup is on. I have scheduled my time off through the final, when Italia will defeat whomever they play. The only reason all the other games are played is to determine who will come in second.
  14. Rob, I have had 8 green chromis in my 360 for almost three years now and not only they school, they are non aggressive and are always out and about. They are not afraid, in fact more than once one of them has jumped in the cup at feeding time. I have thoroughly enjoyed them.
  15. Sachin, I have kept Coral Banded shrimps will all kind of other type of shrimps (cleaner, peppermint, sexy) and never had a problem. I have two caveats, however. I have never kept a single coral banded, I have always had pairs, and they have always been in a bigger tank.
  16. That picture does not do Khanh's tank justice. His LPS tank is absolutely full of stunning corals. Worth a trip no matter where you are.

    Flatworms

Traveller7, No, they could not have come from the rocks as I cooked them for weeks before resetting the tank up. I have a pretty good idea where I got them, however I can't be certain so I would rather not accuse anyone. I will try to take a picture this weekend, but judging from the links you posted, I have the 'bad ones'. However, let me ask you. What do you mean by bad? I have had them before and I never saw them on any coral.

    Flatworms

Traveller7, They are still too small to truly distinguish color. They could be brown or orange. Good to know they may die off quickly, I will wait on treatment for a while and monitor their color as they grow. Thanks.
  19. So my 125 is not even 8 weeks old, after setup, and I have flatworms. Good start. I know Flatworm Exit is a good product, but it is not found locally. Does anyone know of another method to eliminate them? Thanks.
  20. Chp, I have tried to come up with ways to reuse the waste water before, to no avail. Currently, mine goes down the drain as I simply make up too much water to be able to store the "waste". I have a 100 GPD membrane that is just about due to be replaced, but I have never even gotten close to getting that kind of production. My water pressure is low, 40-45 PSI, and I am even bypassing the pressure reducing valve. I tried setting up a MAG 24 in a sink, therefore with no head loss, and have the waste water go back in the sink for reuse, but the pump did not produce enough PSI. I also thought of buying one of those pressure boost pumps, but have not done it. My water bill certainly reflects all the water I waste, but it's not a money issue. I simply hate to waste anything.
  21. Post what you need, we'll try to help you out. I know I have a spare 250W ballast you can use. I MAY even have a mogul.
  22. Phil, I don't see any problems with adding the two tangs, especially at the same time. Just keep in mind the Atlantic Blue will get large, you saw mine. What size it the one at MS? Is it still all yellow? BTW, I had never heard of any isuues with keeping a Marine Betta in a reef. I have never seen mine pick at anything. They are simply beautiful fish, worth the fairly high price, but they are shy. They will hide a lot.
  23. I am taking down my fresh water tanks and am looking to give away the few fish that have not found a home yet. I have two cat fish, a black ghost and a fire eel . Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.
  24. Greetings from sunny San Diego. I enjoyed having everyone over on Saturday; I thought everything went well and hopefully the fish will enjoy the food. Many thanks to Linda for coordinating the frozen food order and to.... ok now I am embarassed. Someone went over to Krish's house to pick up his salt and brought back mine as well. I don't remember your name, but thank you. Eddi Hi, I second Phil. It was a nice experience for me to attend a "stinky" party while enjoying Eddie's incredible tanks. Thank Eddie and everyone who make the party successful. --Tom 31013[/snapback]
