  1. Hey Johnny, soon you'll be able to deliver packages for Amazon with that thing. Nice work.
  2. Is the group buy only if we reach 10 or more? If not, how much would they be if less than 10?
  3. Hi Thai, What kind of FW tank are you setting up? I started in FW 25 years ago and recently went back to it. I now have a 180 reef and a 120 with Discus. I'm happy to help in any way. Eddi
  4. I am going to tag along and add my approval. I had to pack a lunch and stop for gas on my way to his house, but it was worth the effort. Richard has good stuff, great prices, good customer service and is a nice guy to boot! What else could you want?
  5. I will give it a shot; thank you for the good wishes, I will need them.
  6. No, I have never tried Chemiclean; at this point I am ready to put on fins and a mask and jump in to remove it by hand, so I am willing to try anything. Does it work on all kinds of red algae?
  7. I have one in my 125; he has quickly taken care of about a dozen majanos. Between him and my Copperband (aptaisia), I don't have any 'flowery' pests left. Now, if only I could getrife off my $&!@? red algae!!! By the way, I have several LPS in my tank; I have never seem him nip at them. Interesting how individual fish of the same specie can be so different!
  8. I have had a Copperband for years now, and have never had a problem with clams; however, Jan is right, they may pick al LPS, especially fleshy ones like scolymias, lobophylia and wells. Usually, if you add the fish last it will not pick at existing corals, but that is certainly not a guarantee. They can be a bit tough to get to start eating, but they do an amazing job on aptaisia.
  9. I have opened the regulator all the way and I was trying to avoid buying yet another pump. What do you mean by back pressure? Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
  10. My water pressure is not very strong, so my good/discard ratio is probably 6 or 7 to 1, so I am always trying to come up with ways to improve. I save about 15 gallons in a sink that I use for my fresh water tank, but the rest of the water is wasted. I tapped into my main water line; I have a 1" pipe that then I reduce into my RO/DI; what if I plumb the discard line back into my input pipe? Any chance that would work, or would the pressure cause a problem? Administrator - I posted this in the wrong forum. Please move, thanks.
  11. Do these "a day or two of intense cephalopod discussion and socializing" go together? I can just imagine the conversations...
  12. Hey Craig, I actually found that site as I was searching the web; the have a multi week class at the Ananndale NOVA campus starting this Thursday that I will probably take. I also saw they have a one day session on macro in March (I think), and a more detailed one later in the year. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. Thank you, Steve. I will take a look at the site.
  14. Photography really interests me; unfortunately, I am not real good at it. I know the basics, but not much more. Does anyone know a photography class that is more than simply how to point and shoot? I am interested in learning the features of cameras, lighting and macro shots (just to name a few). Thanks.
