  4. you are sure that is the right stuff to put in your tank... if so I am going to go get some! I have been getting it shipped by bulk reef supply and man do i dump alot of it in the tank.
  5. I just put 4 harlequin shrimp in my tank last week. Haven't even made a dent yet.
  6. yes I will.. need to find the camera battery... doh!
  7. Ok back to my tank! I think what I will do is stick to 10k bulbs, upgrade to all 250 ballsts and bulbs and add 4 24" T5 bulbs (2 sets of 2 bulbs) in between my halides to add blue. My tank is 7' long and 2' deep and it has 4 halides so it would be: halide, T5s, halide, halide, T5, halide. What do you guys think about that?
  8. Hey Kevin, That eel is awesome. I understand why you are on the fence... it is expensive to stick with it. Your tanks look better everday and I am sure your son would be very upset if you had to tear down. LMK if I can do anything to help! You have donated your help to anyone on this forum without even thinking twice! Thank you for helping me. Hunter
  9. what is an orb-weaver
  10. Wow... thats worse than my refugium...
  11. ok that would be great... you mean 400 right?
  12. Amay... I am all over the deal but the dual 250 coral vue is the same price as 2 250 ice caps I believe... I am asking what is better for running radium bulbs...
  13. I can get a dual Coral Vue ballast for about the same price as the ice caps... should I get the coral vue? Is that what the pros are doing these days?
  14. Well now I dont know if I want to switch to radiums or supplement. If I can get what I want out of Radiums only that seems the way to go. ICE CAP 250 ballasts are M80 or electric?
  15. I wont run a 20k halide... too blue... I guess I am going to supplement with: 2 ATI BluePlus 39w T5 36" and 2 UVL Super Actinic T5 on an icecap 660. I will stick with 10k halides. What do you think? All I need is the endcaps, stand offs, ballast, bulbs and I am ready to go right?
  16. what about just running 14k radiums with no supplements?
  17. I am actually trying to avoid a blue colored tank. Instead I am trying to supplement the white look to get more color out of my coral and fish. I like the white of the XM's and when I tried 14k bulbs they were way too blue. I would try Radiums if they weren't $85+. XMs are $60 or less all the time.
  18. I only have room for one bulb on either side of the halides... so I am limited to one bulb thicknes... I think 4 36" like Justin said will be my best bet... what reflectors should I get. Ice Cap 35" SLR singles?
  19. I will never go there again either. I stopped by when I was a rookie. I bought a Naso tang that was about 6" with long streamers. I bought it because I had gone in there twice in two weeks and they had this poor fish in a 20 gallon tank. It died a few days later. They charged me WAY too much for it also.
  20. I think I would like to get 2 x 5' or 6' T5 lamps. How many IceCap 660s will I need? Can someone post a link to the bulbs I should use. Thank you.
  21. You have a link to the bulbs and ballasts I should get... is this stuff I can get from ICE CAP's WAMAS deal? I think those bulbs that are up for free are going to kevin but thanks for the heads up....
  22. I really like the base white color of my tank but I am missing out on alot of colors because I am only running 10k XM bulbs with no supplements. I could of course switch to 14k bulbs but they are too blue for me. I was thinking about installing T5 or VHO supplements. My tank is 72" long and 24" deep. What would you guys do? Supplement or change to 14k? What would you use to supplement? (T5 or VHO) and what bulb/ballast combo would you get? (all of my reef lighting knowledge is for metal halides) Thanks!
  23. What size tank, how much rock and what trap are you using... I have too much experience with catching small angel fish...
  24. I think everyone in WAMAS wants this to end in a good way. I personally think this thing has gone out of control and your two personalities crashed as a result. I have mixed feelings about posts like this... 1. Waste of time. 2. Vendor feedback is important. I am going to have a custom sump built eventually and I will give the business to Jeff. Why? Because as a small business "operator" I am aware of how "*@ happens". Also, I know how hard it is to operate a small business... and Jeff's business is a small operation. I have only ever had one client as mad as Sean and I wasn't able to do anything to satisfy him.... it ended up on my insurance in the end... after over a year of sending letters, exchanging phone calls and ALOT of stress... at least the client got what he wanted (most of it) and I dont ever have to hear from him again (and he is not running around bashing my business). However, that was a $15,000.00 mistake by my employee... this issue seems like it can be resolved alot easier.... I mean, honestly, how much does the acrylic cost to remanufacture the tank? A few hundred dollars and some time... I am sure that is not worth the stress NAGA is under right now because of this thread. Or, for that matter, the business that gets chased away by this post. If I was going to have my dream tank built I would think twice because of these threads. On the other hand, a few meetings ago when Jeff brought a sump and tank to the meeting they looked awesome. I wanted one bad. Sean, this sucks for you. I would post on this thread what your expectations are to resolve the issue... and I think that if they are reasonable (level the tank, polish out the scratches, fix the carpet, etc) that Jeff should try to make it happen for you. If they are unreasonable (build me a new 500 gallon tank and fly it to me in a helicopter) then you will probably have to deal with this the hard, long way. I am sure you are both sick of each other but for the good of WAMAS you guys should resolve these issues diplomatically. Remember that when you log off WAMAS and go to your work they are totally unrelated. Jeff's business is directly affected by this post and it IS negatively affecting his business. You have every right to post (you feel people should know about this to avoid similar situations) but remember that this man needs to eat and pay his bills at the end of the day... a VERY large part of him being able to do so is the sales he gets off of WAMAS. Anyway... thats my thoughts on the matter...
  25. wow that worked out well
