  1. From the album: James Nguyen

Don't have an inkling what this thing is that is sticking out from underneath my monti cap.
  2. You mean something like a power cord from another device lying next to or on top of the pH cable? I don't think so, but I can definitely double check that when I get home. I just logged in a moment ago to get an update and the pH is at 8.17.
  3. I went back and took a look at the alert I received since last night. 9:00 PM 8.07 9: 21 PM 7.53 10:18 PM 7.95 11:59 PM 7.79 Today 9:00 AM 8.10 11: 11 AM 7.32 With the window opened 12:01 PM 8.15
  4. No. I have the kalk set up with an ATO so as the water evaporates, it goes into the tank. I emptied, cleaned, and added fresh kalk powder into the reactor on Sunday. Let it run for about 24 hours before I turned it on the ATO to let it add kalk water into the sump. With the windows down stairs opened. It looked like the pH is stabilizing around 8.15 for the past hour.
  5. I got an alert earlier from my ACIII telling me that my tank's pH level dropped to 7.32. Luckily my wife was home so I asked her to open the windows down stairs. I logged into the ACIII and get an update just a moment ago and it shows the pH level has gone back up to 8.12 with the temp at 80.4. I've been running the dehumidifier the past 48 hours to dry the carpet from the kalk stirrer that gotten all over the floor. Anyway, with the dehumidifier running, would it cause the pH level to lower? I've never seen my pH level dropped so much than after a day of running the dehumidifer.
  6. I have a mandarin in my 30 gal that I bought from BK_Market several months back and he's doing great. BK_Market did say that he was able to get it to eat frozen food. I personally have never observed him eating anything that I put in the tank but he is going strong. Either he's eating food in the back of the tank and out of sight or that my fuge has enough pods to sustain him. My 2 year gets such a kick whenever she sees him. James
  7. I got it to not only send a message to my cell phone but to my work email address as well. If you want to send it to your yahoo mail but unable to directly from your ACIII, you might be able to work around this by sending it to your home email or work address then set your email to forward any email that has AquaController in the subject line to your Yahoo mail. James
  8. Connor, I had a similar problem with water leaking around the bulkhead. I took it to Dan (dandy7200) and it turned out that I didn't tightened it enough. What I ended up having to use to tightened it was to use something similar to a monkey wrench and tightened a bit at a time until the leak stop. I also learned that it's normal to have it leak a drop or two per minute. In the course of a few days, the salt creep would seal up the leak. I'm not suggesting that you should use a monkey wrench because if you have the upper body strength, you could very well easily crack your tank or the bulkhead by over tightened it.
  9. Thanks again Brian. I disabled it so it's all good now. James
  10. Thanks Brian. I will do that. I just thought it was weird that up until this morning, the ORP shows value of 000 then all a sudden it starts showing a positive value.
  11. Thanks for the offer Johnny. That is very nice of you, but I don't feel right borrowing something from your shop. I'll see you on Thur for that frag that I won. Dave, please give the watts up to YBe... when you see him this weekend and thanks again for letting me borrow it. James
  12. This is interesting...I just took a look at my ACIII controller and I see that it has ORP value of 016 even though I don't have an ORP probe connect to it. Has anyone notice that on their ACIII? James
  13. Dave, thanks for the offer to pick up the watts up for me. Bob is right though, I practically live in his garage. I plan on setting up a rollaway bed in his garage the next time I'm there Dave, if you don't mind and bring the watts up with you to this weekend's social and give to Bob and I can pick it up from him. I'll give it back to Bob to give to you at the next officer's meeting or if you want, I can bring it to your home. Thanks again for letting me borrow this. James
  14. I'll be out of town this weekend with my wife. Much rather be at the fish social but if I want to maintain my hobby, I'll also have to keep the wife happy. I plan on stopping by Mr Coral before the next club meeting to check out their tanks for sale. If you're around, I can meet up with you and borrow it then and return it to you at the meeting if that is alright with you.
  15. Dave, I don't even know where New Market is! Just so I can get a sense of how far you are, how long does it take you to get to Tysons Corner? Thanks for the name of the device. If I want to buy one, where can I buy it? James
  16. I need to find out how much power is drawn through an electrical outlet so I know if I'm getting close to maxing out the electrical load. I heard there is a device that measures that and I was wondering if someone has one that I can borrow for a day.
  17. Do you know if it also comes in a 200 gal box like IO? James
  18. If it's stuck to your hand, how do you remove it without hurting the anemone? James
  19. Out of curiosity, can you get stung if you handle the anemone without gloves? James
  20. Thanks Dave and David for the information. Once again, I learn something new that I didn't know before. James
  21. I see some folks have programming line that has OSC and RND. Can you tell me what they are and what they do? How do I program mine to notify me in case if the DC8 got trip and no power is feeding it? Is it POWER 000 then ALM ON?
  22. And it works very well.
