  1. Great job. Thanks for the example.
  2. Please post picture.
  3. Many heaters use coiled copper as the heating element. Copper is not good for inverts. Continue with the water changes and good luck. David
  4. Phos will feed algae and also inhibit coral growth. Mag is used as a counter ion for balancing Ca and CO3 concentrations. Keeps more Ca and CO3 in solution. david
  5. Nitrates are at the end of the biological decay pathway, first things die then they start to decay. The process does take some time and is not instant, other wise we could all cycle our tanks in a day.
  6. I just pop them off with a small flat tip screw driver and then superglue them to a small piece of LR rubble.
  7. Super glue gel. We just had a handibond group buy about three weeks ago. David

  10. Buy a well known skimmer such as ASM, Euroreef or get our very own GSA. Usually cut the rating by half on most skimmers as that rating is for a fish only tank and not a reef tank. Name the skimmer you are thinking about purchasing and members will chime in on what they think. I empty my skimmer cup every three days = 200mls of skimmate. David

  12. 2 stealth heaters controlled by my reefkeeper2
  13. I had a similar problem. I cut the intake pipe to lower the intake and it solved my problem. however, a picture might give a better idea of other causes. david
  14. That sounds like the problem. LPS will sometimes stretch out their tentacles to battle other coral next them.
  15. Post a picture. That will help.
  16. Check your nitrates. If they are high then usually your overfeeding and removal of your nitrates by refugium or major water changes are needed. david
  17. Five mintues from home. I will be there!
  18. large amounts of CO2 is deadly, make sure to check for leaks. Too much of any thing is not good.
  19. I sent in a ocean runner pump for repair a day before New Years and the pump was repaired and overnighted the day after it was received. I really appreciate Aqua Medic's prompt customer service. Just thought of sharing my A-M experience
  20. Salifert KH and calcium kit available at most LFS or online.
  21. beat me to it dave... I was going to say, Make sure your alk is up 8-12 dkh, CA around 400 and low phosphate. Then your Coralline will grow. Davd
  22. Move on with a kalk reactor and start saving for a calcium reactor as those SPS get bigger.
