  7. When I was a undergrad at University of California at Santa Cruz, Phil Crews had and still operates a lab, isolating compounds from sponges from the Great Barrier Reef. His lab would take a few weeks every year to identify and collect these samples. To be a member of his lab you had to be certified for SCUBA in open water and a chemistry major. Crews

  20. You want each bulb to have it own reflector otherwise you are wasting T5 light PAR. Single reflectors focus the light down to the tank and is the reason many have switched. Don't skimp on lighting. Buy a TEK or aquactinics fixture. If you want to cut cost build your own with a retro kit from reefgeek.
  21. I have never used any additives for any corals. Just keep your parameters in check. just for reference here are mine. S.G. 1.026 ALK 9 dKH Ca 400 Mg 1400 Phos 0 Nitrate 5 I do a weekly water change of atleast 10% David
  22. I also just monitor the out TDS, but change out all the filters except membrane every year.
