Mystical Lady

If a piece of food lands on my tanks' LS or LR... it starts to twitch quickly, like something is biting it. Does this happen to anyone else?? I can't 'see' anything, so whatever 'it' is must be VERY VERY small.....Is this some kind of 'pod' eating the fallen food??? or a gremlin?

I believe this is getting *very* close:) ....after searching for pics of Alvepora, I find the Alvepora Tizardi very close to what this looks like although mine doesn't have the individual 'petals' yet but it may be a 'juvi' at this point.... mine have 'soft stems' that are coming out of a small rock but being a novice that i am I suppose the 'rock' could be part of the animal itself. Thanks for helping me Identify this!!!!!

it doesn't have the feathery polyps that look like the Organ... the 'polyp' is one piece but is 'puffy' like the candy cane polyp.... but it doesn't have the tentacles that come out-like the candy cane...oh it doesn't have the hard skeleton like the candy cane

This coral was a hitchhiker on a brain.... I scraped it off and put it on a disk.... its not completely out in the pic but hopefully you and tell what it is. I have never seen this in anyones tank nor have I seen a picture of it, but then I really don't know what to even start searching for..... the little flower/polyp is as bright as a candy cane but the 'stems' seem to be transparent. the 'flower and stem' will bend/wave with the current.... they are very small, the whole thing you see there is less than dime-sized.

I have one in my tank... and looks like she has made it past the "second point" as I have had her for over 6 months now....

It looks like I have an outbreak of Ick... my pipefish looks like he has tiny white spots on him.... he was OK this morning when I left for work *sigh*... I have never had Ick before since I am pretty new here still.... so I need some help in the Ick department.... also I have several corals in my tank, will this Ick or treatment hurt? ... 2 corals in particular... I have a Watermelon Alien Eye and 1 coral that was a hitchhiker and I have *never* seen in anyone's tank(trying to get a pic of it for ID) these 2 I am very protective of I don't want to lose either..... tell me what should I do for my fish without hurting my corals....

if you look at TOTM for February and March 2007 you'll see 2 0f them but, believe me........ Rebecca's setup should be there also!!!

I have been to Ocho Rios in Jamaica... and several other places in Jamaica.... and I will NOT go back to Jamaica.... ever....... I never went Scuba there but the water certainly didn't look good.... as far as a fun place and wonderful diving.... I would have to say around Cozumel(great party town ), grand caymen(beautiful place!), Nassau,.... lots of other places far nicer and cleaner than Jamaica... IMO...

I don't know if the one I have is yours or not but I got it thru the raffle.... plastic baggie with rubber band at top??? I need to get a pic so I can identify what it is that I have.... kind of a flat piece of coral on a square plug, whitish looking, with little tiny polyps.... if that makes sense... I'll try and get a pic... anyway, thanks for the donations.... I love them!!!

I work at the airport and in the security process (DHS), although I don't work the Checkpoint anymore, I did at one point (Supervisor)... take a quart ziplock baggie... and you will be able to take as many 3.4oz bottles that will fit into that baggie... but you would have to make sure it is NOT over 3.4oz in each container.... I would suggest you box safely and put everything in your checked baggage...... or better yet.... FEDEx to your home....

Name tags are a PLUS, IMO.... the lectures were wonderful.... and now that I am 'armed' with knowledge about the 'old tank' syndrome.... so many facts that I have a headache with 'information overload' and the raffles were alot of FUN!!! 2 thumbs UP for the meeting!!! well, worth my 2 hours of driving to get there... and getting lost on my way home.... LOL

Please tell me I ain't NUTS.... I have been using Black Diamond brand of carbon.... then I ran out.... closest store only had 'Aquatic Garden' brand so I bought it........ I been using it for a month and fighting all kinds of stuff in my tank.... parameters were always good but algae has been unreal and just the water looked ......well dirty.......... so this morning I did a 50% WC... cleaned up the rocks some and the glass front of the tank .... I *swear* the tank looks a thousand times cleaner.... could this be because the the different brand of carbon or am I just I really didn't clean the rocks or glass very good... nothing that I thought would make a HUGE difference..... so can the different brand of carbon be the reason??? I was one that was determined NOT to use RO/DI water.... but after fighting my tank parameters for months I decided to start buying the water from the store just to see if there was a difference.... almost immediately I could see the parameters change for the better........ I bought a RO/DI unit about a month ago and have been absolutely undeniably happy about the purchase ever since..... I should have bought a unit sooner than I did and not been so stubborn about it...... I love my RO/DI unit!!

he told me he 'owns' one of the frag tanks.... the one on the right at the back of the store... his frags are much better than the stores.......

I stopped at Rick's in Frederick on my way home to check out clowns and make a purchase... I have already had bad customer service here but I thought I would give this place one more chance... As I made my way to the back of the store where they keep the fish I passed 3 employees at the Cash register area laughing and talking.... I was checking out the fish expecting SOMEONE to come check on me..... NOONE ever left that cash register area to even ask if I needed something... I waited 15mins. looking at the fish.... I decided to leave and on my way out someone from the cash register area hollered out 'is there anything i can help you with'....... on my way OUT !!!! can you believe that?? geezzzzzzzzz...... I won't go back there again... its ridiculous!! I wish I didn't live so far from BRK.... but then its only 18M from my work...hhmmm.... maybe a LONG lunch sometime......
