HowardofNOVA August 1, 2006 August 1, 2006 Eric, Nice pics! I think you sucked up the last bit of memory on the server!
HowardofNOVA August 1, 2006 August 1, 2006 OK, Dave, I'm trying to edit this post with updates and getting this error: THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to What's up?
EricBrian August 2, 2006 Author August 2, 2006 OK, Dave, I'm trying to edit this post with updates and getting this error: THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to What's up? Howard, the problem is that there is a limit on the number of pics that are allowed in one post. So, I put them in multiple posts. And, since the forum software consolidates posts from the same members that were made one after the other, all pictures were put into the same post. Maybe we should make a second post and somebody posts between my posts... Or?

Pat_13 August 7, 2006 August 7, 2006 Looks great Howard. It was nice meeting you at the tank tour last week. Those are strong stands. How many tanks are you putting on each stand, the corners are equivalent to a 4X6! Did you use glue or just screws?
HowardofNOVA August 7, 2006 August 7, 2006 Glue is not needed. I used 2 1/2" Deckmate Screws for all board connections. 3/4" plywood on bottom (overkill on smaller tanks) but adds a measure of strength for large stands. I've decide on what I think will be a unique covering. I'm going to use Oak Plywood for 3 sides attached with snaps that will allow the stand side walls to be removed comletely. The corners I'll use corner molding shaped like Rope and will also be able to snap on by Spring Devices allowing me the ability to pull the ENTIRE sides off to access the inside from any section! If anyone needs a stand like this built, LMK? I'll give you a fair price and can be put together over a weekend! Of course the outside covering will vary quite a bit depending on material, design and hardware!
emissary August 7, 2006 August 7, 2006 Woah, I think I probably need your help! I need to build a stand for my frag tank a bit ... higher than you put most tanks. ALSO, the floor isn't level -- it's a sloped tile floor. You interested?
HowardofNOVA August 7, 2006 August 7, 2006 Yanek, Piece of cake, we will need to add a Thinset Floor Compound to level the floor. Used when doing tile floors that are uneven. After that drys, just slip in the new stand and your done. Weekend job for sure. I can do it possibly this coming weekend if your ok with it? Drop me a PM with the stands measurements (width x lenght x height) and anything special that you need for it to meet your needs? Will get out a quote for you! Howard
flowerseller August 7, 2006 August 7, 2006 Will you be wearing those cool shorts while your making them?
HowardofNOVA August 9, 2006 August 9, 2006 And what is wrong with my SHORTS? I just picked up the material to make the canopy, will take pics and try to get them up soon! BTW, I've had several request to build stands AND Canopies. So I got some pricing on materials to expedite your request ASAP! Will possibly have some time to fabricate a few this weekend, so if anyone is in the market, LMK? Howard
Caribbean Jake August 9, 2006 August 9, 2006 good job Howard. and great post... with all those pictures and sequence of construction. thanks for showing us how to DIY ... I see you were hardly working , or is it working hard?
HowardofNOVA August 10, 2006 August 10, 2006 NEED SLEEP! I ASSuMEd that I had alot of plumbing supplies left over from my Spring Clearance Sale of my 75g Tank? I ASSuMEd that I had alot of 1" clear tubing also? I ASSuMEd that I had powerheads leftover too! I ASSuMEd that I had ALL of these wonderful things! I ASSuMEd WRONG! Picked up 80+ lbs. of LR from Chip and 20+ gallons of water from him doing his water changes and would bring it all home tonight...er last night and would do some quick plumbing and let it go in my 30g Frag Tank! Once again, I ASSuMEd WRONG! So, with my MAG18 and my Frag tank about 2/3 full of water (Can't go any farther, no plumbing for bulkhead!) the LR is at least doing fine! Tomorrow, I need to go shopping for plumbing supplies! IF ANYONE Has the following for sale, LMK....FAST! MAG 7, 9.5 or 12? You can reply to the post, but fill free to call me directly! 703-899-6209. later, I got to go to bed and wake up in 3hrs to go to work!
HowardofNOVA January 29, 2007 January 29, 2007 Alright Sam, this was on page #39 of #143 PAGES that show topics I talk!!! More pics coming!
HowardofNOVA January 30, 2007 January 30, 2007 Thanks Eric!!! I thought somebody did a bonehead thing in deleting the post!!
keeperofthefish January 31, 2007 January 31, 2007 (edited) Awesome! Thanks! Very helpful! Quick question for you, Howard: what do you use the bolts for? Edited January 31, 2007 by keeperofthefish
HowardofNOVA January 31, 2007 January 31, 2007 Besides my neck??? Use to bolt the supports together, do you really want to rely on 3" deckmate screws to hold a 1/2 ton of water?
tygger January 31, 2007 January 31, 2007 Looks really well built. I'm sure those stands can support 10x what they're going to be used for. Any pics of the finished product?
