flowerseller February 21, 2016 February 21, 2016 Wondering what the current thought as far as spectrum goes is for a 36" fluorescent bulb over a refugium? I have to run a fluorescent bulb given my set up. What are you using?
mogurnda February 22, 2016 February 22, 2016 Anything from warm white (3500 K) on up is fine. Green plants use both red and blue, so high color temperature bulbs (>10000K) are not only more expensive but also counterproductive. The new LED fuge lights are strongly balanced toward red (they are basically re-purposed hydroponics lights), and most excellent for growth.
mogurnda February 22, 2016 February 22, 2016 Does anyone have a favorite led fuge light? I like the Evergrow S2. A bit pricey, but I get fast, dense growth.
rtelles February 25, 2016 February 25, 2016 I had a wavepoint super blue and daylight led over my CPR HOB 'fuge and all of the caluerpa and chaeto grew exponentially faster than the regular daylight bulb I had over it before.
monkiboy February 26, 2016 February 26, 2016 Does anyone have a favorite led fuge light? i'm always really impressed with the evergrow s6 and s2 lights I've seen over fuges and the ones i use on my systems. people tend to underpower their lights on their fuge and limit their export potential greaty. no other grow light I've offered has sold or worked as well as those evergrow lights for fuges.
