I found something strange on my rock.

Hi, new to saltwater. I just finished cycling my tank and added my clean up crew 2 days ago. This morning I looked in my tank and saw something on one of the rocks I don't remember being there. Can anyone help me identify it? I've looked on line and haven't seen any similar pics.

Looks like a vermetid to me

my vote is sponge or tunicate.  Vermitid snails don't have transparent shells.

I would leave them.

 

Sponges and tunicates are filter feeders. They will help keep your water cleaner.

cool, like I said Im pretty new to saltwater and there is so much to learn, all kinds of new species and pests to be concerned about. thanks for the help guys. Ill start posting so pics when I get my tank stocked and looking good.
