Getting out of the hobby in Stafford

All,

My family and I have decided to move closer to "home", so I have accepted a position on Aberdeen Proving grounds.  I start a week from today.  That being said the tank will have to run on autopilot why we figure out the moving of my family over the next couple months.  I will be back most weekends to spend time with family and divvy out the tank.

The tank is a 200 Marineland DD with a 30 gallon sump and 30 gallon frag tank.  I am just trying to sell the inhabitants at this time, but ultimately will list that tank and stand/sump etc

I will be making a list with prices as I get time, so I am throwing this out as a teaser :)  Stay tuned!

Thanks

Scott

I will be around today if anyone wants to swing by and take a look.

I will be using this thread.  The lack of ability to edit is inconvenient, but  oh well!

It will be a bit before I can set up another tank and I think I would do something a little different.  The 200 DD is an awesome tank though.  So many things that can be done with the 3 ft depth.

Here is a list of the fish and Anemones

Fish:
•Breeding pair of Bangaii Cardinals ---- $100
•Three 4 month old Bangaii cardinals ---- $20 each
•Breeding pair of Occ. clowns (one misbar, one normal) ----- $30 for the pair
•Mated pair of "Wyoming white" type clowns --- $100
•Mated pair of Orchid Dottybacks (female missing eye) ---- $100
•Mated pair of Sunrise Dottybacks ---- $100
•Mated pair of Yellow Accessors ---- $100
•School(3) of Blue eyed Cardinals ---- $20 each/ 50 for the trio
•Dejardini Tang ---- $50 ~3-4"
•2 bar rabbit fish ---- $30 (know valonia eater)
•2 Green Chromis ---- $10 for the pair

*Breeding means eggs have been verified in some cases raised
*Mated means the happy couple are performing all behaviors, but for various reasons have never been able to collect the eggs.

The Bangaii juveniles, white clowns, and Sunrise dottybacks can be sold whenever. The rest will have to wait for the tank to be broken down further.

Rose Anemones the size of Dinner plates if not larger. ---- $70 each

  • At least one will come with a large piece of live rock.  The other may as well.  I am not removing them from the rocks as part of the sale so you potentially will get bonus corals as well.

Blue eyed or also called Longspine.  Pictures of generic fish can be seen here

I am working to get a list of coral and hardware along with pictures.   So those pics will have to wait, but the 3 I have for sale look identical.  I have had them for almost 2 years.

Interested in yellow assessors... Got any pics? Pm me regarding when you think they'd be available...and let me know what they are eating now for planning purposes

The Cardinal fish eat just about anything, frozen, flake and pellet.  The yellow assessors will pick at flake and pellet but they take frozen readily.  I have had them for almost 2 years and got them from ORA through QA.

Timeline will be TBD, the assessors are going to be the most difficult to catch so I have to get most of the coral out first.

I will try to snap some pics.

Sorry all, things got a little hectic yesterday with people coming over to look at fish.

Many have asked about the tank/stand/etc.  I will be asking 1200 for:

Tank

Stand

29 Gallon Sump

30 Gallon breeder

Euroreef skimmer/pump

Mag 12 return

UV sterlizer

Ph monitor (needs probe)

other misc items I am not thinking of

I also have a ton of other stuff that I have acumulated over the years.  If you are looking for something in particular let me know.

I have 3 40 breeders that I got from Petco.  I am asking 40 each for them and will drill whatever holes you would like in them (within reason).

I have a 55 gallon tank I use for water changes --- $30

I have an RO system (I think 50/day) with float switches and a solenoid.  Comes with ~30 gallon tub.  ---- $ 75  -  Filters likely need to be changed.

I am keeping my LEDs, but have other misc lighting if anyone is looking for MH components.

I am still working on the list of corals.

Thanks

-Scott

Alan,

Sorry no build thread.

I have been in the hobby for 15+ years.  I joined the club with Dave (coralhind) back around 2000.  So I have a ton of stuff I have accumulated over the years.  Let me know if you are looking for something in particular.

Thanks

Scott

I mainly just wanted to see the tank and what you'd done with it and what the stand looked like, etc.  I know Isaac is interested in tank, but I was curious about pictures anyway.  A 200DD would be the endpoint of my upgrades in the current location, I think.  I've kind of been watching for one to come up for sale and your thread even prompted me to finally ask a vendor what a new one would go for.///

Unfortunately no, I may be able to set something up with my wife but would have to clear that with her first.  It would depend what you are interested in.  She wants little to do with the whole thing so I doubt she would be willing to bag something up.  I will ask though.
