Thanks let me look at the nano-reef forum for more information. btw, how many watts is the led and what configuration is it?

Here is a link to the hybrid thread:

http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/357361-nano-box-hybrid-pricing-pictures-info/

Just as a heads-up, Dave gives me all these lights for free, but I can honestly say they're worth it and the best lights I've seen. His v3 LED puck array is an amazing color combo.

There are a good amount of reviews on nano-reef. Just be aware that it does take a little time since Dave handmakes these.

Now that you've been using it for a while, I'm curious -- how do you like the mame overflow?

It's perfect. Completely silent. I didn't even have my new tank drilled, just using the mame again

You got the tank yet? You holding out with some pictures?

Sweet. Thanks for the follow up Brad! I was already 95% sold on going with a mame for my 25g Landen when I set it up. Now I'm 100% convinced it's the route I want to go.

Not yet. It was delivered to the trucking terminal but I haven't had a chance to get it. They're only open 9-4 M-F and they're in the east bay, and traffic getting over there is horrible. I have no motivation lol, I hate the east bay.

Make sure you get the silencer. The return pump is important too, make sure you can control the flow. I have a hydor l40 but I probably have it turned to like 25%.

Roger that - the silencer is on my 'must have' list, and I've got a Sicce 3.0 which is flow adjustable and also easily meets the minimum 528 g/h recommend for the mame overflow per the info on www.saltwater-conversion.com.

One more question if you don't mind (more out of curiosity than concern), do you find that you have to clean it very often?  Given my slight compulsiveness with cleanliness, I have no problem doing frequent, regular cleaning if it's required... am just trying to get an idea of what to expect.

I think I've cleaned it twice in the last year. It probably should be cleaned more often, but there isn't much that sticks into the tank, so I would just shove a paper towel down as far in as I could to make it look a little nicer in the display. Then twice I took it completely apart and soaked it in vinegar.

I feel that. It's nice on that "less is more" philosophy. Hopefully once you get it setup the gears will kick in again, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Hoping to cancel my afternoon meetings tomorrow and get the tank, if not, Wednesday is wide open.

Do you ever go on nano-reef? Giga, "king of mangroves", just set up a new tank. Ridiculous. He grew this mangrove tree outdoors in freshwater for 4 years, the root system is what I dream of.

I need to setup an outdoor grow.

Filling it up tonight?

Gonna try, but probably not. I still have to finish the stand and paint Killz2 on the sump section.

I also haven't finished the rock structure for the mangrove portion of the tank or bought any fiji pink sand.

I started off really strong on this build, then faded quickly haha

I can already tell the thrill is gone and you're thinking about if you should put it up for sale, heh.

Haha, I was for a while. But now that I actually have it, I'm getting excited again. It's the mangroves that keep me excited. They're gonna love this new nanobox light, so powerful.

Blue lines are the tank and the corner is the mangroves

Not completely sold on the light bar for the hybrid, but it will do.
