newtoreef July 6, 2014 Share July 6, 2014 I just moved from Manassas to Bristow. I had three friends that were supposed to help me with my tank but took off for the Holiday weekend in the last minute. My wife and I tried to carry the tank tonight but we could not. I have left on my old house the tank and stand sitting on my kitchen empty everything else is on my new house. Is there a good soul here that is willing to help me with that tomorrow morning? I know this is a short notice but I need to be done tomorrow. Please send me a message or call me tomorrow 703 869-2579 if you can help I would really appreciate it. I have a minivan and I think I can fit everything inside. Thanks in advance, Sidney
Origami July 6, 2014 Share July 6, 2014 Sidney, I'd help but I've got 20 people visiting this weekend from my wife's side of the family. I hope you get some help from some of our members down your way. Good luck.
newtoreef July 8, 2014 Author Share July 8, 2014 Well the move was a disaster. Don't know yet how many coral I lost but i would say 70%. So far a lost my royal gramma. Very sad :( But I learned my lesson... Thanks for the offer though

newtoreef July 8, 2014 Author Share July 8, 2014 I run out of time doing things on my own. My wife helped me out as much as she could but we could not move the tank on our own so the next day I got some guys that were sitting by 7 eleven and they helped me out move the tank to the new place. then I did not have enough water made to start filling the tank up. I was running up and down for 3 days and hopefully tonight I will finish putting the corals and fish back to the tank. I have tons of corals bleach out and very slimy and right now I am just praying for the best. I will keep you guys posted. BTW thanks christine for calling today to check on me. I really appreciate it.
HgrReefs July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 Man...that's tough! Sorry to hear. Let me know when you get back up and running, I'm sure I'll be able to give you some frags to replace what has perished.
Origami July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 Again, sorry. Having water on hand is really important. In a pinch, you can use tap water and a dechlorinator to condition the water. It's not the best situation, but it'll work. So were the corals essentially "in transit" for 3 days? How were they kept during that time?

Cheshireboxers July 8, 2014 Share July 8, 2014 Wow when I read your first post for help moving the tank I thought it was an empty tank. I always keep about 40 gals of saltwater on standby also keep 6 - 5 gal jugs of ro water made up just in case I need to do a major water change on my tank plus I try to do a water change every week on my system. I know hind sight is always too late but please once your stable let me know I'll hook you up with some frags.

TrueTricia July 9, 2014 Share July 9, 2014 Good luck. The great thing about corals is, they grow! Fish....well, once you kill a fish, it's kind of hard to regrow a piece of it. I tried. It smelled.
