reeferindc April 29, 2014 April 29, 2014 I have a pair of gladiator clowns and a RBTA in my tank. Recently I have noticed that my female( larger of the two) has started swimming around my RBTA. I have never actually witnessed her touching it but swimming very near it and checking it out. I read someplace that the clowns have to build up their coats in order to host the nems. Is this correct and does this behavior my clown is distributing seem like it is preparing to host?
wildcrazyjoker81 April 29, 2014 April 29, 2014 That is what my clowns did and they hosted about 3 days later. Seems like they are on the right path. I also encouraged them into the RBTA with some food.

reeferindc June 2, 2014 Author June 2, 2014 Great News!!! 1.)My female clown is hosting the nem!! 2.)The female is chasing the male around the tank like crazy, but I don't see any physical damage to the male. She is literally charging him at every chance she gets at full speed.I feel sorry for him but I heard this is normal. I tried to get a small video of my tank uploaded but I am having a difficult time.
Coral Hind June 2, 2014 June 2, 2014 Congrats on having the anemone host the female clown. That is always a cool relationship to have in a tank. She is just securing her dominance role. Totally normal and a good sign they are bonded. The male normally does a little twitch or shake after she charges him.
