reeferindc February 27, 2014 February 27, 2014 I'm curious if any members feed their fish any fruits? If so what kind? I know some do veggies but was wondering about fruit .
YHSublime February 27, 2014 February 27, 2014 My thoughts on this are, can they get fruit in the ocean? And if something like a mango rolled into the ocean, would the fish really eat it?
reeferindc February 27, 2014 Author February 27, 2014 That's what made me want to know. I would think yes , so I wanted to know what some hobbyist fed their fish in terms of fruit and what fish were actually eating
elbowdeep88 February 28, 2014 February 28, 2014 i think it was in bornemans coral book that he suggests using fruits/vegetables of different colors as a way to possibly boost coral/fish color due to the amino acids. think carrots, eggplant, kale, etc. eggplant is technically a fruit right?

Dude, fish will eat your hand if left in the ocean. Of course they eat fruit. They also eat bread and I'm guessing they don't have access to kitchen aid mixers and ovens.

OcalaReefGirl February 28, 2014 February 28, 2014 The are supposed to eat some fruit, think veggies as mentioned before. I usually feed them a meat diet of clams, shrimp, mollusks, etc.
dave w March 1, 2014 March 1, 2014 Honestly I don't know what value the fruit would have for them except for a few vitamins and some fructose. If you had no other way of getting fresh vitamins then I would see it, but there are lots of ways to soak your food in liquid vitamins.
