YHSublime January 29, 2014 January 29, 2014 So the other day my Exquisite decided to jump into my overflow (thank goodness I've got the nets set up) down into my sump, past the mantis, and into the next chamber. It remained down there until I found some time to take my skimmer out and catch it.. which was today. Upon catching it, and putting it back into the tank, it sped away and hid. I just fed the tank with hopes to get it out, and it worked, however, one of it's eyes is gigantic, hope the video shows. I presume with all the rock it would have hit going into my sump, and the perils and obstacles it faced, it probably just brushed a rock. From what I've read, it should heal up on it's own, and there is nothing I can do? Just looking for a second opinion I suppose.
Coral Hind January 29, 2014 January 29, 2014 Most eye injuries which cause pop eye heal up in a week. I have had some that never went away but the fish still went on with a some what normal life. Fingers crossed!

It's funny, I called it "Crazy Eyes" before, now it's "Crazy Eye" for real! Leave her be... Unless you want to QT her just in case of bacterial infection... No way I'm going to try and catch that thing, it was hard enough in the sump!

YHSublime February 1, 2014 Author February 1, 2014 How's the eye looking? In hiding, came out to eat a few times, but laying low. Can see it with a flashlight, breathing and moving, but can only see it's good eye. Hoping for the best, a different fish after it's sump tour. Hopefully will venture out again like before.

I do remember, although I wouldn't call the incident similar The wrasse has an eye the size of a second head, did you see the video?

YHSublime February 2, 2014 Author February 2, 2014 So he is doing it in your tank too. Be is just suicidal. Yeah, when the lights go off it likes to jump. It became pretty habitual, and then one day, it hit the overflow and took the wild ride that it seeks.
