gmerek2 January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 What kind if flatworm is this again? I think I remember seeing threads of this guy and most saying he's harmless? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Coral Hind January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 I had one about a year ago eating on LPS and leather corals. I too remember threads about them but can't seem to find them.
Coral Hind January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 I dont know if this is the type but here is one thread I found. http://wamas.org/forums/topic/57947-help-is-this-a-flatworm-or-nudibranch-or-what/
zygote2k January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 I have 2 of them that live in my current tank. They're unusual and appear to be harmless, but if they ate a coral or two, I wouldn't really be concerned. They just have a specialized diet. It's all about perspective. If you don't want it, I'll take it and then they can be a nice happy flatworm family.
Coral Hind January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 Can you post pictures of yours? How big are they? The flatworm I had was about 1 1/2" long.
Squishie89 January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 (edited) Looks like a polyclad flatworm, snail/clam/mollusk eater, sometimes corals. I have/had them (not sure if I eradicated them or not). Hope these help.http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/general-saltwater-aquarium-articles/106256-polyclad-flatworm-p-mopsus-clam-killer.htmlhttp://www.reef2reef.com/forums/general-invert-forum/137517-what-thing-pics.html http://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhiker/hitchhiker.shtml Edited January 22, 2014 by Squishie89

If he or offspring does make it to display tank they will have to go through the meat grinder aka pump.

flooddc January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 I have/had one. Released it into my refugium. Don't know if it's still alive. It's a predatory flatworm. http://wamas.org/forums/topic/60953-flatworm/
hawkfish01 January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 I had one of those in my 10 gal...it killed my urchin..so i waited after lites out one nite and caught him,all 6"+ of him/her and it went on a long visit with the tidybowl man...
Coral Hind January 22, 2014 January 22, 2014 gmerek2 - You should take a turkey baster and blast the corals in your tank just to make sure you don't have more and that they are not eating anything. They blend in with the corals and hide perfectly. I had one of those in my 10 gal...it killed my urchin..so i waited after lites out one nite and caught him,all 6"+ of him/her and it went on a long visit with the tidybowl man... Wow, I've heard they can get big, didn't know that big. Yikes! Interesting I have a trillion limpets in the fuge but never put a snail in. A limpet is a type of snail.
gmerek2 January 22, 2014 Author January 22, 2014 Ok I didn't notice any thing fly off but did notice soft slimy water filled sacs on my slimer and red table. Not sure what they are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Huly January 23, 2014 January 23, 2014 Here is what we did with the ones eating our torch. Not sure if it is the same as yours: http://wamas.org/forums/topic/58001-euphyllia-eating-flatworms-and-treatment-eefw/
OUsnakebyte January 24, 2014 January 24, 2014 Looks like another Netted Flatworm, Pseudoceros texarus. A snail predator, I believe. I've found them taking out my astrea snails before, so they go when I find them. http://wamas.org/forums/topic/49507-giant-flatworm/?hl=%2Bnetted+%2Bflatworm&do=findComment&comment=414849 http://wamas.org/forums/topic/55292-polyclad-flatworm/?hl=%2Bnetted+%2Bflatworm&do=findComment&comment=467734 Cheers Mike

I wonder If this is the reason I don't have any limpets in my DT. My fuge and sump filled with limpets. I am skeptical because I found him in the fuge with the limpets. I don't keep snails in the fuge or sump. But have 5 turbos in DT.
