I know I have seen threads with people talking about this before, but I can not see to find them? I'm looking for 120mm and a 80mm PC fan recommendation to remove humidity from my stand. What do you guys use?

$6 4" fan @ walmart works better. Unless you have a right transformer for the pc fan, you could fried the fan and possibly cause a fire with wrong transformer. IMO, not worth it.

You can both a DC fan and a transformer at RadioShack. I bought a 12V DC fan and ran it at 10V which made it much more quiet but moved enough air.

I also have used the DC fans from radio shack as well. If you have an old desk top computer laying around you can remove and use that fan.

So look around to see if you have any "wall wart" transformers rated 10-12VDC, because you can use that for a PC fan. Cheaper fans are noisy and when run at their full 12V can make a racket. Make sure the mAmp rating is sufficient (which it almost always will be for a small fan.)

I'm pretty sure computer fans are all 12V, so any standard 12VDC adapter will do.  Be sure to run them in parallel and not in series.

If you run them in series you'll have a voltage drop and the fans will run slower. If you run them parallel then you'll have a current drop so you have to make sure the transformer can handle the load.
