steveoutlaw April 25, 2013 April 25, 2013 Unfortunately my old a$$ed body is starting to implode. I have to get my hand reconstructed in a week, followed by my left shoulder, followed by neck surgery. Having an acrylic tank through all of this is going to be a ******. So, what is the best magnet scraper to get? I've seen some out there that come with inserts designed to clean and buff out little scratches at the same time.........I just don't want to get the one that should be on the infomercial and will do more damage to my tank. Note: I WILL be on pain pills when I have to clean my tank!!
smallreef April 25, 2013 April 25, 2013 What I used to do is get the strongest magnet cleaner there was and put the inside part inside a small micron bag so it wouldn't scratch...worked great at cleaning and never scratched, though cant say it did any more than that..
sachabballi reef April 25, 2013 April 25, 2013 1. I'm as old as you so watch it lol... 2. Thats why you have kids to earn their keep 3 get a glass tank 4 I can attest to the power of a Mr clean sponge lol I use them (original formula) to clean my glass when the magnet isn't good enough....I assume would work amazing with no effort on acrylic. MBVette April 25, 2013 April 25, 2013 I used to have a great white magnet but it was to strong for my 3/4" tank. Now I use a tiger shark and it is perfect.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 Ok........#1, don't forget it Jenn.........you'll start breaking down soon. #2, I have three teenage girls.........fish tanks are "gross". #3, Yeah.......how many freakin times do I need to be reminded of that!!! #4 - I use one now. Problem is, I can't get up on a step ladder to reach to the bottom of the tank.
sachabballi reef April 25, 2013 April 25, 2013 ok then I vote for the mr clean on the inside of the cleaner magnet and use something strong...I have a tunze one and its amazing..even though I think you can do some kind of wobbly one legged act on the step ladder and are just being a wimp... and tell the teenagers the access to the car keys is in direct proportion to the amount they clean the fish tank and mow the grass.....you must control the situation or they are going to eat you alive once you become incapacitated and high on your pain killers....
steveoutlaw April 26, 2013 Author April 26, 2013 wear heels Tried it.......they don't work well on ladders.
smallreef April 26, 2013 April 26, 2013 Wow is this what happens once we get old? Oh and my biggest suggestion is DONOT let the house cleaners help!
ErikS April 26, 2013 April 26, 2013 ..........Unfortunately my old a$$ed body is starting to implode......................... Think it's bad now just wait until you get to my age I like the Mr Clean idea, they work well when used by hand & should work with a magnet. Every single mag cleaner I've used leaves micro marks - even "acrylic safe". YMMV
sachabballi reef April 26, 2013 April 26, 2013 I only use the "original" ones on my tank. Of course extra strength on my arms to remove my layers of skin.. but to be safe from scratches I would stick with original. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
