Mag pumps - supreme vs. pondmaster

What's the difference between the supreme and pondmaster Mag pumps - except for the price?

I have the same question when I was looking at this pumps and as far as I know its the length of the power cord the only difference, thats what I found on their website. Great pumps I have 2 mag 18 as returns and a 9.5 for skimmer and 2 mag 7 for water change.

I'm thinking about getting a more powerful pump for water changes (currently mj1200), and I'm debating between a Mag7 or a Mag 12. The mag 12 would more powerful and a good backup for when my return dies, but it's also $50 more.

They are the same except the cord length. Longer (18 ft) cord is for pond use.

Mag drives are the chit in my book. From what I've read the only differance is the cord lenth

The pond ones have a 20' cord, and I am told the the supremes are a little different in that they are designed with saltwater use in mind. I however have not been able to confirm that

I can't tell the difference, and I've used pondmaster mag18's for salt water many times without problems.

the accessories in the boxes are slightly different and cord is diff length. performance curve chart is slightly different too.
