  1. Very nice Frank! I have got to get over there and see your tank and fish! There is never enough time in the day
  2. It's not that he doesn't have an appetite, he swims around looking for it when I feed but unless it is right in front of his mouth he misses it. My temp stays 79 to 80 and I cannot find any stray current. I seriously don't think he see's right anymore. He is getting a few morsels but nothing like he is used to.
  3. That's the only way he can find it if I chop up food in big pieces. He picks at nori a little but not very interested in it
  4. His eyes are clear and look good. i don't know how old he is. I've had him over two years. he was about8 inches when I got him now is is around 12. He does seem to manuever in and out of the rocks ok, but can't seem to focus on the smaller pieces of food. Anyone know how old these fish get? He one of my favorites who is so tame I can reach in and touch him.
  5. I have a large Unicorn tang I've had for a couple years now in my 220 fowlr. The last couple weeks I've noticed he's having trouble eating. It seems like he can't see the food. if I drop some right in front of his mouth he gets a couple bites but doesn't eat like he used too. He was a eating machine that just swam and eat like a pig. I've noticed sometimes he goes after the food and misses it like he"s crosseyed or something. Anyone ran in to this before or have any ideas? My water params are great
  6. Welcome! I'm in Slanesville but am in Winchester everyday
  7. Eric, In my fowlr I have a forty gallon sump with filter sock, big skimmer and a fluval fx5 cannister. I do a 20% water change about every three weeks. I could probably do less water changes but I'm pretty heavily stocked. I only feed once daily but I feed heavy. I used to run gfo but I don't keep up with that anymore. My fish seem fine even my Emporer and I'm getting ready to add a three spot angel when he's ready to come out of Quarentine. Is that spelled right? My spellcheck isn't working. My Emporer was maybe 2 inches when I got him and now he is about 6 or 8 and almost through his change. The nice thing about a fowlr is you can get some beautiful fish that won't work in a reef.
  8. How do you keep the numbers in check? I got a bunch ane they seem to be gaining in numbers. I even have young ones. I don't see any ill effects though. Mine sat and wait when I feed the fish
  9. My 220 gal braces popped in the middle of the night over a year ago. I took a bar clamp and slowly pulled it back in place and never drained a drop of water out. The next day I took 1/2 inch square steel tubing cut to the exact width of the tank and welded a flat piece of steel to each end that extended about two inches down on the tank frame. I then released the bar clamp and good as new, probably better. I have never had a problem other then I used the wrong paint and they are starting to rust. I am going to make a new set and use marine grade paint this time
  10. I'll second that on Winchester aquarium and their good people
  11. If I'm understanding you right, That is the armature. You can sand it lightly with fine emery cloth and that should clean it up. But why is it rusting? I would think that should be sealed.
  12. I know I'm a ways away but I've got two old 55 gal tank you can use till you get straight
  13. I have worked on small engines for years and ethanol kills them. I only run non=-ethanol in all of my outdoor equip. Letting them run dry is the best but I always add stabill before I run them out because you will never run all of it out unless you drain the fuel bowl. There will be a little left in the bowl and the residue in the line and jets.
