Alieu07 June 3, 2011 June 3, 2011 Hi guys and gals Finally my big boy born 6/2/2011 3:00pm 2500 lbs 74" tall I been collecting toys for my big boy more than one year. I was planning to finish my basement b4 set up this big boy but plan had changed. So now i am still filling ro/di water to the tank. I have almost everythings except the LED light. Fishman65(Rob) will finish my LED light probably 2 weeks from now hopefully. I have the 48 3w cree 50/50. It is a 150g Marineland DD tank with original stand and canopy. I have my co-worker Tim Frost to built me a stand extension that will add 9" more tall. <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=IMG_0061.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/IMG_0061.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> With extension <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=014.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/014.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=017.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/017.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=018.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/018.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=019.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/019.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=020.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/020.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=021.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/021.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=022.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/022.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> ro/di unit with booster pump <a href="http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/?action=view¤t=023.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/andy4460photos/023.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Stay tuned more pics coming.

jason the filter freak June 3, 2011 June 3, 2011 What is the function of the mag pump on the right of this pic, it looks like it just circulates water in the sump?
luceneck June 3, 2011 June 3, 2011 (edited) Yup it pump to the refugium. It is a mag 3. I really like the tank dimensions. This is going to be great! Why did you decide to use a pump to feed the refugium vs an baffle (overflow)? I would think that using a pump adds more risk to issues like pump failure, keeping skimmer compartment water level stable, and flooding during power outages. Just curious. Alieu07 June 3, 2011 Author June 3, 2011 Hey Luciano, How are you? Thanks.......This sump is desiged this way. Yea the refugium compartment 's water level is high almost to the top of the sump but should be ok with power outages or pump failure.
Alieu07 June 3, 2011 Author June 3, 2011 (edited) Still filling up my tank half tank of ro/di water now. Edited June 3, 2011 by Alieu07

Percisely what I was thinking, is there a way to set up the sump for passive flow from the tank drains?
