tygger August 13, 2009 August 13, 2009 I've seen other types of snail eggs in my tank before, but never like this: Does anyone know what this is? It's located about half way up the glass and looks like small clumps of sand attached to a stringy substance. Thanks
L8 2 RISE August 13, 2009 August 13, 2009 I may be wrong, but that kind of looks like the trails some types of snails or worms leave behind and it's probably now got sand attached to it. I don't think they're eggs though.
tygger August 13, 2009 Author August 13, 2009 Yea, that's what it looks like to me also... just never seen it before and it's odd that the trail starts from the middle of the wall. If it is just a snail trail, man, that's one heavy duty slime. lol
Origami August 13, 2009 August 13, 2009 Look like snail eggs to me. My old cerith snails sometimes used to leave a trail like that.
tygger August 13, 2009 Author August 13, 2009 Thanks for pointing that out. I did a quick search on cerith egg pics and I think you're right. http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/reef-h...snail-eggs.html Though most of the patterns I saw from searching seem to be more symetrical like this: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_ZcSL1IBcCpg/ST6T5QNc...s912/cerith.jpg
zygote2k August 13, 2009 August 13, 2009 Don't disturb them. Maybe they'll hatch and you'll have a ton of free snails.

trockafella August 14, 2009 August 14, 2009 I just got a new batch of cerith and the next day I had several trails like that on the glass. Dont know what it is, but I left it alone..
