something to sit palys/zoas on?

I'm trying to figure out what I could use or build to sit payls and zoas on, instead of directly on the sand. Sort of like a variable level shlef on the bottom, but I don;t want to use eggcrate because that would not look so great in a display tank. Maybe some homemade rock arrangement or something? Any ideas?

You could keep your eyes out for a nice piece of dry rock and chisel it to what you want.

Personally I think the frag rack Nate built is awesome. Or you could try maybe a long piece of tonga shelf rock propped up on two smaller pieces that are hidden from the shelf.

Tile would be a good alternative, and may also provide you with some extra trading capacity once they grow on them.
