kylemagoo May 11, 2009 May 11, 2009 Hi, So I completed all of my plumbing for a 120 gallon DT with 30 gallon sump, including an in sump skimmer. I am doing my water test and the skimmer is producing no foam. Instead it is producing large bubbles in the skimmer body. Any ideas? thanks Kyle
lhcorals May 11, 2009 May 11, 2009 If this is a new skimmer it has a break in period. The residue that is left by the manufacture takes a little time to go away.
Coral Hind May 11, 2009 May 11, 2009 We need more info. What type of skimmer is it? How deep is? Have you tried raising it so it is not so deep under the water? If it is a venturi, they do not work well placed deep. Water pressure keeps it from sucking in air properly.

jason the filter freak May 11, 2009 May 11, 2009 its been said no salt no foam, if you have salt your skimmer may be taking in too much air or taking in air too fast
