skipperawe October 14, 2008 Author Share October 14, 2008 (edited) Hey Bob, he lives across the road from me. Glenn, the xenia can go south for a variety of reasons, although I don't know that anyone has proven or pinpointed any single cause as a culprit in most cases. That said, pH and nutrient levels in a tank are the typical problems (lack of nutrients as they eat up nitrates, keep them in dirtier water to keep them happier is a generalized theory). How's all that stuff I gave you coming along? well, all i have to say is he lives 45 minutes away! i went there and got some great frags. (gsp, clove, and many thins i dont know the name of) here are some pics my personaly made frag plugs out of the sps coral that shatered at mr. lins house some small polyped coral that he gave me these are the clove polyps he gave me. this is my prized gsp I hope you all like the pics, sorry i had to do them out of water Skipper Edited October 14, 2008 by skipperawe

Sugar Magnolia October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 It's common for it to close up occasionally, especially when moved to a new environment. Try moving it to another spot in the tank and see how it does.

However in my dad's 72 Gal. we have a mystery coral on our hands that looks like gsp, but is white. it is also on the same rock that had gsp on it before it was wiped out. Here are some pics, look closely please reply soon, skipperawe

skipperawe October 20, 2008 Author Share October 20, 2008 Those are star polyps as well. (Pachyclavularia sp.) ???????? are they GSP??? Why arent they green!!!!!!!!
Sugar Magnolia October 20, 2008 Share October 20, 2008 They aren't GSP, that would be green star polyps. Star polyps come in several different colors; tan, brown, green. The center color of the polyp can be white, yellow or green. Pachyclavularia violecea is the green variety. I have tan star polyps with a white center.
